  1. Thought I read here that the 4.0 uses the AX-15, AX-5 was for the smaller engines? I would like to eventually upgrade to the AX-15 and a Dana44 but still keep it 2wd, would like to go 4x4 but hell the way gas prices are going. Right now has a BA-10, dana35 with 3.07 but enjoy the 20+ MPG freeway miles.
  2. Well brakes are awesome now, compare to how they were. Great mod. Visited the local JY no luck locating 97+ wiper reservoir I did see one with fender cut-out was there, but still mounted on the drivers side. Found it on-line from the mopar site bit pricey, anyone got one FS? or know anywhere cheaper? I did email Rockauto see if they can beat the price. Can I just buy the bottle/filler neck and get the pumps at the JY or just buy new ones? http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=getJointLocator&siteid=213674&chapter=&Sectionids=0,2580&groupid=51864&subgroupid=3903&componentid=6963&make=17&model=Cherokee&year=1998&graphicID=WB97250&callout=4&catalogid=2&displayCatalogid=0
  3. This one I couldn't use the spacer (52008646 was in a automatic) it was too short, if I remove the spacer it was still a little shorter than the stock maybe by a 1/4 inch or more. I already cut it for the brake switch need to enlarged hole to use stock hardware. Comparing the lenghts. Image Not Found I didn't have to make any lines. The lines on the master cylinder was long enough after I re-bend with my pipe bending tool they bolted up perfectly. Image Not Found Still the brake is slightly lower than the clutch, well hopefully it will still be OK. I still need to get fluid and bleed them see how they work. Image Not Found
  4. Great idea, looks clean!
  5. That looks clean I like that. I also notice you have a different washer fluid bottle will that fit with a stock air box? again a lot cleaner look than relocating the stock bottle inch back but I don't see how it could be? My brakes are horrible glad to find this mod even with my boney tires, they suck! I can only imagine what it like with a lift kit.
  6. Thanks for the tip! I think I will do it your way, will makes it look more cleaner than using adapters. I do have tube bending tool but will have to buy the flare tools already got the stock booster out, tomorrow it should be done.
  7. Yep, 95/96 short rod should be an easy mod, got spacer, brake switch (just in case) $24.95 for each items, around $54 total. Looks like I can use some kind of adapters to the stock lines. Image Not Found
  8. Thanks hornbrod. I'm on my way!
  9. Hello all I was at the local JY and I was wondering before I pulled the part if this will work. I tried to find the yr but it's too badly damaged. Also this jeep has a automatic and mines a stick, don't know if this really matters? cell phone pic's Image Not Found Engine been removed it's just sitting there all alone. Image Not Found
  10. Some updated pictures visited the local pick it part junk yard, lost a rear bolt on my Avalanche decided just to pay the 2 bucks and get one there, and well low and behold there was a swb comanche/w fiberglass shell, and few XJ. Got the buckets seats out of the comanche (found $1.85 under the seat too!!), window cranks. Gauges from a XJ, a few odd and ends peices. Old gauges original miles. Image Not Found New gauges got to keep the mileage legit. Image Not Found These seat were filthy! amazing I just remove the covers and threw them in the washing machine for a few hot wash cycles. Image Not Found ACC Vinyl, looks great glad to get rid of the carpet! Yuck! Image Not Found a few small tears, but clean! Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found It's amazing what you find in these old jeep what are the odds I find the exact same stereo in one of the XJ, I just took the detachable face piece works great now I got 2! just in case I lose one or get stolen. lol Image Not Found Image Not Found I know how you guys all like a lot of pictures so here you go!
  11. Thanks Guys, Those days are long gone. I'm a old fart now! Just memories is all that's left. I hate to sell her but I may have to at the moment I'm collecting unemployment I lost my job to outsourcing to some 3rd world country (NAFTA) I knew sooner or later! That why I'm fixing her up to sell on Craiglist, but will give you guys 1st shot once I'm finished. I don't know what she worth but there is over $2k in all the electronics alone. Maybe I will post it on Ebay before I decide to close my account.
  12. Well if it all started when you were pulling fuses and reinserting them, then I would expect that maybe something within the fuse block got messed up. I've read about some who block got messed up due to contamination once I was pulling fuses and when I reinserted it managed to push out one of the contact perhaps something like that happened. Well just a suggestion since it all started there. Good Luck.
  13. Main stereo back in. Just wired it up quickly just to test everything is working correctly. Crutchfield amp drive the speaker boxes 10 inch woofers and Alpine amp drives the 6 1/2 Polk door speakers. This system really rocks! My redneck center console I made. My previous one was old and falling apart (particle board) so I thought I customize it alittle added equalizer area and extra space in the rear. Rearrange the cups to add strength. Thought I stain it just to see how it would look before I pad it and cover it, kind of looks good like it is.lol Passenger seat still in great condition I thought it was torn but I was wrong.
  14. Sorry for all the confusion, this boot goes all the way below the extension past the circlip I thought removing the shifter was no biggie but if a special puller is needed then I will just cut a slit to slide over it and tie a tywrap at the end and then I will apply some silicone to make a good seal. Most everybody boot is probably gone like this I just wanted to get it corrected before I finished with the vinyl flooring. I order an older model boot and will incorporate the 2 to make one. This crazy idea didn't work. lol But this did work good enough, I manage to stretch two of the holes and made 2 new ones. You can see the cut folded over and 2 mounting holes I need to seal up.
  15. Not trying to be a smart @$$, but I thought this a good explanation.
  16. Well since I need a special puller I'm just going to reverse the boot problem solved lol.
  17. Well if you would have read my post then you'll understand what I was trying to do
  18. Thanks for the reply but exactly how does the screwdrivers come into play? is it threaded on? do I need a pipe wrench on the shifter shaft and a big wrench on the extension? I just don't want to put too much force I'm afraid I may cause some damage.
  19. Yeah! I need to know how to remove it anyone here got junk one that can try? I got the older model shifter boot and I think I can incorporate the 2 to make one good one but I need to know how to remove that damn shifter! I can stretch it pass the circlip but that's how far I can go. I got too big wrenches one underneath seem like there's a nut there and the other on the shifter but that damn thing won't come off.
  20. I tried Herculiner in the cab and nerf bars, prep is the key, follow all instruction, they give you a scouring pad to scuff up the surface but I sure didn't trust it to do a good job ended up using sandblaster 60 coarse then prep with Xylol, pretty tough stuff with all those rubber bits, just don't get any on your hootus.lol Bought mine at local Kragen 1 gallon kit $89 minus $25 rebate so around $65 plus tax. 1 Gallon enough to do a 6ft bed add a quart more for 7ft. http://www.herculiner.com/specialoffer.html
  21. I don't want to talk about it, LOL crap OK I don't have AX5 I got the pukegoat figured that out by reading posts LOL anyways the reason why the picture of the boot is so small because that how big the freaking thing is LOL it's no bigger than a diameter of a soda can. I order the older model 4 bolt figure I'll just mickey mouse it somehow. LOL I'm returning the Hockey puck BOOT back Jack!
  22. Looks good for that price, wow big difference in surcharges just because of the D-ring tabs? $110 compare to $20?
  23. Looks like you have go pin by pin and remove each one from the block and insert it into the new block or if you need everything including the wiring then you have to remove the whole harness, sounds like a PIA either way.
