go for it. you can always pass it along for the same money to somebody else if you can't find time to bring it back.

Comanche Mini Console or Transfer Casfe Shifter Trim
rocks91mj replied to kleinjesse's topic in Wanted
I need a full console too the grey would be great if anyone has one they want to part with. just let me know thanks. I'm in 23024. -
I have rebuilt the t case in a 85 3/4ton chevy truck I had. Blew the planetary set pulling a heavy trailer over a tall curb. It broke the center hub In it. Or the weld that held it together.

I'm sure I can do the job, just need a manual or a few pointers to get me over any problem spots. I saw a how to step by step write up somewhere , But can't seem to find it now. yes I have the use of a press next door so that's not a problem. I'm trying to take 2 ax15 trans and build 1 good one. One is a long tail shaft the other from a 4x4. Both in 1991 jeeps. The spline count is 23 not sure how that happened. I was thinking they would be 21 count, based on what everyone has told me.

so I need some info / how to on rebuilding my trans/ax15 before installing it in my truck. any pointer would be great, thanks.

yes ,all is good .I got it off.I had to work it back and forth for a while but in the end in gave up. The plug has a keeper, I could not tell just were it was hung up but the keeper was not the problem just 22 plus years not being moved. thanks for all the posts they gave me the feeling I just had to keep at it.

I am switching my instrument cluster and am having a hard time removing the big plug on the back. I'm working on my 91 Comanche. Changing from a almost no gauge to a full setup. The back of the plug has what looks to be a blue keeper of some sort , I just need some insight as to how it is disconnected, I don't want to break it. Thanks for helping me out.

1989 Comanche Lynchburg Va. Help.
rocks91mj replied to Cmbechtold's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
hey, you might want to replace that 8" cmu under your rear axle before it decides to break and leave your axle on the ground, or trap someone under the truck. COOL truck you have their, I hope you get it back on the road and looking the way you want soon. I'm in Va. too, so maybe I will see you on the road or trail, always on the lookout for a fellow owner, good luck. -
Great looking truck! I really like the new grey buckets you put in it. Now if you were only closer I WOULD OFFER TO BUY THEM , only so you could get a set that matches your truck. That's just the kind of guy I am, always ready to help out when I can! HA HA !!! Can't wait to see the bumper install ,roll on .

too cool, What do you think you can get out of the kit in the HP area? Do you need the meth & WATER TO GET IT TO WORK? Or is it just added for a little extra bang!

Welcome,Looks like you got a great deal on that truck .looking forward to the pics, and the build. I think it's cool that thing would even run at all after three years, must have been in ok shape when it was put up! It reminds me of mine, it was in a barn for two years but had been put up with a few problems. Like a bad fuel pump, no working key cylinder and so on. The tank was full of fuel to the top I was thinking it was empty, man was I wrong, fuel had gone bad, the sending unit wasn't working so it sounded all the same to me when I was taping on it.Two fuel pumps later and a good tank washing, first one was bad out of the box, I got it to run . Sounded really bad but after 5 mins or so, it smoothed on out , now it runs good. Hope you have a great time with yours!

You can get a overflow tank off a 91 or newer xj or mj and a new rad, sounds like you may need one anyway and then replace all your other stuff. thermostat, hoses, rad cap, water pump, heater hoses, and check your fan clutch for proper operation. Also need to make sure your temp gage is working or light , if you do not see it turn on red when you turn the on key before you start the engine it's not working. Will also need a overflow hose to the tank from the new radiator. Good luck! hope this will get you started. I just bought all the same parts minus the tank, 91 has one. I spent $220 approx., $108 rad, $27 pump ,$10 thermostat, $5 cap, $50 in hoses, $12 hose clamps, and lets not forget the state so that's about it.

My son and I run mickey Thompson wheels on 2 jeeps no clear coat they come from the factory just hi polish aluminum. not bad to keep clean we use mothers wheel polish with the ball they sell, if you keep up with it it's not a problem. If you get clear coat wheels and they get chipped and they will you will have a lot more work to make them look good again. Just my 2 cents !

Help With Ac Conversion To 134A
rocks91mj replied to rocks91mj's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Ok that's a good start, i'm going to get on it in a few . I hope it's a line or the tank . If it's the tank where can I get one to replace it? The tanks behind the front bumper? not sure I ever saw it so may be awall this truck had some front end damage before I got it, so who knows what I will find. Just getting in to the smaller things now hope this it a small problem. will let you all know what I find, thanks for the insight. -
no parts # but all you need to know is the year of your truck and they will be able to get you the right parts. they were not in stock for my 91 but they were in the dis center so I got them the next day. That is the dryer the service port adapters were in the store. One thing to look out for, just got mine going and it seems my cooling system may be on the weak side my truck ran hot today with the ac going for a teaching lesson with my youngest daughter on driving a stick so hope yours is in better shape. good luck!

Just doing the same thing on my truck. You can get what you need at napa. Oil -pag dryer about $27 2 cans r134a and a kit with the fittings so you can put in the new oil and 134a. $11 for fittings. I took off the compressor to drain the old oil out and install the fittings . On my 91 the lower port is the low pressure line has a S on the back of the compressor stands for suction the top one is high pressure has a d for discharge just had a lesson on the valves they are 3way you can see an explanation on my thread. everyone has been a big help to me thanks again.

rocks91mj replied to rocks91mj's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Just to up date the thing cools good only one problem now, it only blows through the defrost . I think it may be a vacuum problem. any ideas where to start to look? seems like I fix one thing only to find something else! can't see an end to that anytime soon.
