  1. Looks like a good truck to build a wheeler from, pre dented. I would grab some bucket seats from a Cherokee and lots of mirrors and blinker lights if your going to wheel it much. Then think about armor and trimming some sheet metal. A roll bar or roll cage should be on the list and a winch. The box in the bed is nice and the Dana 44 is nice if it is metric ton. Have fun with the build, Ron
  2. Congratulations from last months MJOTM. Very clean well taken care of truck.

  4. Willy, I think you need to admit it, when strangers are commenting on the fact that your wife never drives it, the truck is not hers anymore. Ron
  5. Thanks, I'm Taking the Comanche out for its second trail run this weekend. My plan is to wheel it for the summer pretty much as is fixing things that come up and then do some more upgrades when the weather turns wet and cold. I was thrilled to be selected for MJOTM the announcement came out of left field. I hope everyone likes the truck even if it is different from how they would build it. I appreciate all of the positive comments about the work I have done on the truck. I will try to post some pictures from the next wheeling trip when I get back. Ron
  6. Thanks for the compliments. I could not have done everything I wanted to do without the help and advice of my friend Willy. Still lots to do so keep watching the build thread. Ron

  8. Willy, Thanks for the pics, Deb did a good job with the camera. Ron
  9. jbain, Trophy Girl Designs weld together mount. They have a couple of different styles and they will do custom engraving and laser cut what you want. Check out the web sit at www.trophygirldesign.com. I ordered the mount on Monday afternoon and received it on Tuesday in the mail, great service. $35.00 Ron
  10. Love the transporter but what's under the tarp behind it? Ron
  11. There are a couple of different winch bumpers out there. I just built a JCR weld it yourself bumper and it turned out well. They also have the same bumper which they have already welded for you. It is made of 3/16th steel plate and it wraps around the fender to give better protection. You will have to trim the fender a little bit but that's not hard at all. You can check out my build Green Monster to see what mine looks like. I added the hoops myself but JCR will sell you a kit for it if you want. As far as fender flares goes I am still trying to decide which ones I want. Good luck, Ron
  12. Thanks, If the shafts you have are from a similar vehicle, same spline count and diameter, they should slide right in. Ron
  13. Whitemanche, The axel was just totally rebuilt when I installed the locker and changed the gearing. These axles are brand new and fit just as the old one did so there was no reason to redo the seals again. The new axles are just made out of a better material not any bigger. Ron

  15. Alicia, I will keep it the same color but the decals have to go. Sorry but I am not a fan of the 1980/90 theme graphics. I think I will stay with one color except Black for the letters on the tailgate and maybe a Comanche sticker to replace the badging but that's not for sure yet. Ron
