Differences between 90 & 92 Comanches
GirsMJ86 replied to SomeNew Name's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
that is what i would do since there were under 1k MJs made in 92 IIRC. if it is in that good a shape it would almost be worth it to fix the frame in the rear and have a nice 92. Alex -
this was posted in one of the other recent ebay posts on here. it will never sell unless he comes WAY down. Alex
-
nope no donor XJ, just all the parts from a 93 XJ that go with the power windows/locks, but idc about the locks part. and on another side note: there is something wrong with a 4dr wrangler to begin with. and the is something major wrong with the compass and patriot. oh wait i can solve all these problems: CDX owns jeep. :D Alex
-
nope that is the part number for the one you are looking for. here is the eliminator part number though incase you need it: 52003759. and no problem, this is why i took the parts manual off the dealerships hands i use to work at. Alex
-
well i would offer up our 100' x 60' barn/shop but i think i might still be farther then what you are looking for. good luck on your hunt. Alex

i am going to do the power windows conversion to my new 91. i was just wondering if anyone on here has already done it and i wondered how it went for ya? or if anyone on here knows of a write up out there somewhere that could help me out maybe? thanks. Alex

as long as the bed lengths are the same they will swap. and where are you located? and what are all the specs on his 92, like option wise and stuff? Alex -
Death Wobble, The Saga Continues
GirsMJ86 replied to Rundel's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
i don't think he was yelling, more or less just trying to get it across loud and clear to everyone that that is not and never will be the solution or main problem. Alex -
did you ever get the parts number? if not i have it for ya: 52003621. but the parts manual only lists one number. so if there are different sizes then they are not listed. if you still need the Eliminator ones measured i can get that also. Alex
-
thats funny, but oh so true. bonkers - i have a parts manual for MJs that have everypart listed along with their numbers. there was a factory chrome rollbar. you could get either chrome or black, same with bumpers and roo bars. Alex

Death Wobble, The Saga Continues
GirsMJ86 replied to Rundel's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
or i have seen many a times from the dealer that the tires can go bad or just be bad internally and they are throwing the balance off. it may come down to needing new tires. Alex -
that is a nice looking TJ. everyone at my dealership drove Rams, PTs, Crossfires, Dakotas, or one guy drove an 85 Stang. I drove the MJs and once took in my K-10 to show off. But the nice thing was the discounts. but for body parts i went to my uncles paint store and had him order me rear bumpers and stuff since CDX must not have the MJs in their database. i think they are embarassed that Jeep actually had some cool trucks like the MJ and FSJs. Idiots. Alex
-
lol. i know what you mean there. noone at the jeep dealer i worked at drove jeeps. then i showed up driving a comanche or 2 and none of them had ever seen one. i think these things must be from a parallel universe or somthing. Alex
-
thanks but once i get my replacement laptop from the insurance i will be able to get the wireless connection back that i get from the neighbors. . do you have the videos online as well? Alex
-
man those are some nice pics. i like the one of the xj through the tree. very nice. i might have to make a trip sometime to get some good pics for my portfolio. i will have to look at the rest some other time when i am not running on dial up. Alex

well that is the 2.8L. so that means it is an 86. but here is the thing that gets me. it has some oddities to what my 2.8 looked like. i don't know if he has just done some work to it (which is very likely with the 2.8) or that is factory. and yes i am not that dumb that i think it looks different because of the electrical stuff missing. here is a few pics of mine: Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found the main thing i notice is the look of the air cleaner housing. with a few other oddities. but it is a 2.8 and i think he has just done work to it. maybe ask him what all he has done to it just so you know. one problem with that housing is the air intake. there is none and the hole for the intake tube is not in the right spot. so it would not breath real well like that unless you took it back to stock or did a custom thing to it. Alex

a 4.0 swap into an 86 is not a problem for the later yeared ones when they were getting ready for the 4.0L. but if it would be an earlier yeared 86 then his best bet would be the 3.4L cameo engine, straight bolt in replacement. only takes a few mods for it to go in. Alex

if it is a V6 then it would be an 86. I6 is what came in the 87s. correct me if i am wrong for some reason. maybe an early year 87 came with the V6? but i thought they were only 86 engines. the V6 can have major problems with it besides just having no more power then the 2.5 I4. GM could not fix the problems with it so they sold it to AMC. if you could look at it and tell us what kind of shape it is in yourself or get pics that would help. it would also help if you got the enigne type for sure and then what tranny and stuff. but for 100 bucks it would be a great parts truck if the body is in decent shape. Alex

 didnt know. well anyways, that is one sweet pic. what type of jeep is that behind ya? is it a MJ, XJ, WJ? and i only say WJ since it has two tones, but have not really looked to close at the pics. and where was it taken? that is one of the coolest MJ pics i have ever seen. got anymore pics from that shoot? Alex

you can find a larger version of it here: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/comanche_garage/ i no longer have it on my pc but i thought i used it on my site. Alex

the one cole has bolts up just like the stock swb one i pictured. i can still get pics of it if needed since it is factory. Alex
-
here is a swb one: Image Not Found here is the lwb one: Image Not Found Alex

i have a fsm, but it is for a 91. not sure what others it would work for except the 92s though. if you need some diagrams i could copy the pages and send em to ya. they might help better then haynes at least. Alex

sure if you want to ask. lol. here is an example from the oct issue. "If you could own any Jeep, what would it be?" - reader "A black or white '79 CJ-5 rebuilt from the ground up with fiberglass body, a 304 V8, and all the bells, whistles, and amenitites. If anyone is willing to build and donate it to me, don't be shy. Be sure to contact me ASAP!" - Bree others have been like "how do i get your autograph?", "what is your favorite Jeep?", stuff like that. most the time the questions are jeep related but not always. Alex
