-

OK, so I just got the April JP Mag in the mail today. And I noticed something once I got to the back. The pics of Bree seem to be getting better. And I was going to say something before, but now it has to be official. They seemed to start getting better after we all complained on here back when they actually signed up and was on here chating with us about the October '06 issue. Let me know what the rest of you JP buyers think. And if I need to I can take a pic and post it. Alex PS- Can you believe they actually reviewed the Power Wheels Hurricane? LOL.

here is my latest pic. http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/47125893/ more will be on their way within the next two weeks. so feel free to bookmark my mainpage (click my name in the title) and i will post here when it is updated with more pics. PS- if you click on the pic it comes up as an 800 x 600 pic but if you click "download" in the menu on the left it will be a 1600 x 1200 size pic for those of you that want to use it as a background or whatever.

yea the c-clip was a pain, but then again so was sliding the sleeve over. glad it worked for ya. just wondering. i am not sure how many other people have done the CAD fix since i did mine and did the write up, but did the pics and stuff i posted up help out any? its my first write up and i tried to take pics along the way and everything while trying to keep one hand "clean" so i could use the camera. thanks. Alex

what he said. but country seems to be limited to stuff like kenny chesney, little big town, big and rich, and dirks bently. (sorry if anything is spelled wrong. its 2:30 am here and I'm out of it.) Alex

I sort of have two top five lists. In the areas I live in I can pick up newer stuff at one house and older stuff at the other. Plus I was raised on Styx and Boston so I only recently started to listen to newer stuff. Classic Rock: 1: Styx 2: Boston 3: Queen 4: AC/DC 5: toss-up between Tom Petty, Billy Joel, and Steve Miller Newer Stuff: 1: Chevelle 2: Three Days Grace 3: Breaking Benjamin 4: TOOL 5: another toss-up between Stone Sour, Disturbed, and Linkin Park (Solo) Alex

i actually am taking classes in photography and have taken quite a few. sadly though, i am on dial-up right now so i can not upload any to photobucket to show off here. i have some really good ones of my 86 and 91 mj. i will try and get some up here. or maybe just link to my art website. photography was my second major at CCAD, second only because i wanted to do artwork in video games and the likes first. yea down the road i am going to swap to a non-disco axle. that is the best thing to do, or just swap that side of the axle shaft. but if you swap to a non-disco axle you can go for a newer upgrade in the process and get bigger and better u-joints. but i have had no problems with the CAD fix or any change in mileage or anything. Alex

don't bother with the vac lines. just do the CAD "fix" so it does not use vac to engage. there is a write up in my project section. http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/view ... c&start=30 Alex

i want newer doors for more then one reason. i would much rather mod newer ones to work then redo the interior. i hate trying to work on interior stuff of the doors. and like i stated earlier, i don't want power stuff anymore. i have the stuff to put power in now if i wanted, or if anyone else wants to buy the stuff from me. but power is just something else for me to water-proof and more stuff to just go wrong. i am going to grab all new doors, complete with everything but power. down the road i hope to swap over to the newer dash anyways. and there are not many u-pull-it yards around me. and the ones that pull the stuff them self seem to want way too much for parts. it just seems like it would be an easier project (in my eyes anyways) to swap doors. plus if i can get doors cheap enough that are complete minus power then a few bucks difference is not going to matter. my doors now are not the greatest as it is. the driver one won't stay open anymore, the lock is about to fall out, and it leaks a tad because of a small dent at the top. the passenger one is fine but the lock does not match the driver side and the driver side is the one i have the key for. in short, the main reason i am doing this is so i don't have to do interior door work and i am trying to make a show truck so i want nice parts that work good and look good in it. main reason i want a factory rear bumper and i am trying to find a new bed. well my 86 had fixed units that i swapped over to vents, then my 91 had vents that i just got done swapping over to the fixed units the other day. took maybe 10 minutes total both times. but both my windows are messed up really bad in the 91. the driver one won't go down all the way and then won't roll back up. and the passenger side one is starting to act up. and the inside of those doors are so cramped i would much rather do exterior mods to make the strikers line up then internal mods to make the solid glass windows work in the older doors. i have welders and plasma cutters and anything else that i will need to make the strikers line up and look good. with the help of that write up i should be able to improve it. and i will take pictures along the way so we have a more complete write up on our site, like i did for the CAD fix under my 91 project section. rather then just using the bolt to put the newer striker on, i will be welding the newer striker on and cutting the old bolt head off then doing some tack welds or something to hold it. once i get some dry weather i will be looking into the door swap after i put an older 10 slot grille on my 91. mine will be closer to "done correctly" then "hacked" i believe. once i find some complete newer doors i will start the picture taking and write-up process in my project section. Alex

as long as i can rig them up so they close tight, then idc if they are hacked together or done correctly. and it is easier then swapping to the solid windows anyways. Alex

oh and the paint is not that nice up close. it was a cheapo macco job. i am not sure yet on paint. i think i am going to go with black spray paint and pot some por-15 ultra shine clear coat on it. this way the truck is shiny and chip proof. plus it will have that sweet flat black grayish color. and the reason i do not want power is several. 1: i don't feel like messing with wires. 2: i don't want to pay more for parts if something goes wrong (which is more likely to happen with power) 3: i mud run and ford water too much to mess with more wires in the door to water proof then just the speakers. Alex

WOOOO! SMURF TRUCKS ROCK! but any ways. i like the light blue or black. i tried to combine the two colors once, that didn't work too well. i found out two tone paint schemes on mjs don't look so well. Alex
-
thanks ferok. now all i got to do is find some cheap non-power doors with the interior panels in gray and it will work. color won't matter much either since i might be doing spray paint truck again . Alex
-
first off, how well do they fit? how hard are they to make fit? what all does it take? i want to do this because both windows on my 91 are shot and do not want to roll up or down very well. and i would like to get rid of the triangle windows and switch to the full windows. and i believe this would be easier then swapping windows. i am not real concerned about the interior panels not matching, just so long as they are gray. and i do not want power options either. Alex

that 4dr mj is not the one i have seen. the one i saw was a real mj with the rear xj doors added. it had the long bed and everything. that thing is just an xj with a bed, like that yellow japan 4dr that was posted on here awhile ago. Image Not Found Alex

Help, dead MJ (NOW RUNNING)
GirsMJ86 replied to beaterjeep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
let me know how much better it runs. just my luck, thats all it needed (other then the oil leak). good luck and have fun with her. Alex -
bringing it back from the dead. i am also a member on the gladiator forum (jeepgladiator.org). i found out that you can order brochures if you call this number: 1-800-992-1997. and we have a plan to call and bug them really bad also right now since the car show is going on. we all think it would be great for the gladiator if we all called wanting to know about it instead of their latest car concept, the trailhawk. so if you want brochure and want to see this thing made, then start calling. i think there are a few other places but none of them are really worth anything. i was thinking about starting a yahoo group just for ohio owners, but it seems this place works just fine. and yes i see MJs and XJs all over around here. but most of them are in really bad rusty shape with all the salt we put on the roads around here. that is why the first thing i do to mine is give em a good coat of por-15. lol. Help, dead MJ (NOW RUNNING)
GirsMJ86 replied to beaterjeep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
man with all the trouble you are having with her and all the money i have spent on the 91 i almost regret getting rid of it. maybe i should have just made a 4.0L HO fit and been done with it. o well i guess. hope you manage to get it straightened out. and i bet if you ever manage to get that oil leak fixed and all the little bugs out of it it would run like a scared race horse. Alex -
i would have taken it back for parts anyways. with a body in that good of shape i am sure it would have come in handy. Alex

actually i started talkin to rob almost as soon as he posted it for sale on here. and agreed to buy it off him within the first week. he even gave me all the spare jeep parts he had, which i can't seem to sell any of them. i found my 86 on ebay. got my 88 locally. just keep your eyes out and you will find one. i know of one right down the street from me that just sits and i am going to see if he will sell it. if he will i will add pics and info on here, after i take the running boards off. as for j-trucks, i know two not far from me. one is 500 and the other is unknown. but the one is really rusty. i think the easiest way is to just get out in the rural areas and look. seems most people just let em sit and don't bother posting that they are for sale.
