  1. Very nice Joe, was wondering what happened to her. lol. anyways, I'm too swamped with work now to do anything to mine. she might have to leave me cuz i just don't have time anymore. or at least her dents and blue cloud exhaust will not be fixed for a LONG time. I see you kept my "ghost" J e e p tailgate letters i did, and that batman logo. lol. PST: that grille would look badass silver also. just my 2 cents though. Alex

    '76 Camaro

I agree with this one wholeheartedly. The 700R4 would be the tranny I'd recommend if you were after gas mileage. And nowadays, 350's can be had for pretty cheap as well. Sounds like a decent car though, would ya happen to have any pics of it? I will see if I can get any pics, but with work now that might be hard. I am in sales at the local Chevy dealer. Plus the car is in his barn under the cover on stands I believe. And the hood is off of it or it is a spare hood, I forget if it had another hood for the blower or if the whole was just in the stock hood. Alex

    '76 Camaro

no clue what engine was in it. it was a big time race motor. could ONLY be run on race fuel. high octane race fuel. I'm wanting to stick just some small block in it, v8 or v6 don't really care. and milage isnt a big thing. if i was mainly going for milage i would wait for the new camaro and get 30mpg. as long as i can get 20mpg out of this thing with some engine/auto tranny combo i will be happy. mainly doing it for the looks of em. the '76s were kick@$$. Okay, let me clear this up a bit more. It has a manual tranny in it now. So I need to know engine/tranny combo that would work. I want to keep it floor shift too if that matters. And while I'm on it, anyone know of any fuel injection kits for a 350, or even a 305 since I have a feeling those are the engine options for this thing. Plus my K-10s 350 could use a fuel injection setup bad... Alex

    '76 Camaro

Anyone know anything about em? I am looking at one to buy. It has a near mint body/interior but a blown race motor. A family friend owns it and he reinforced the unibody with some more crossmembers so that the torque from the motor wouldn't twist it to hell. So if I got it it would need a new motor. I need to know what engines were offered in em and stuff. As long as the motor that goes into it will mate to an automatic and they both will bolt in I will consider it. I am not wanting to mod it or anything. And I am trying to figure out if I could get it to get about 20+ mpg. It's either this or a JK Unlimited Rubi, which is only rated at 19mpg highway. So as long as I can get more from the Camaro I will go this route. Thanks for the help. Alex
  6. If you are going to collect em you should try to find that new one that states some of the firsts for jeep. the one that has to deal with the lifetime powertrain warranty. i also thought the ones where the JK looked like a bug were good, and the one with the lizard, but those ones don't have sound for some reason. Alex
  7. They look nice and all, and the USA is a plus. I will say that the strap style on the right seems to hold a better grip on the strap itself, the other style can slip over time. But as for the colors, I wouldn't be able to wear tan around the farm. That is just asking to get coated with grease and oil. Something dark like Black with white stitching, Navy with a gray stitching, or Olive Drab with a tan stitching would be great. Maybe offer one dark color and one light color? Flex-Fits are nice but I don't know of any made in the USA. Plus then you have to get a bunch in different sizes. So as long as they are ball caps and not trucker hats I am game, with different colors that is. Alex
  8. Same feelings EXACTLY. Daimler was the ones that ruined Jeep for the most part. They are the ones that overall said yes or no to concepts even if they got great public reaction (Gladiator). And Dodge had some pressure on Jeep to not make it also. The head guy at Jeep when they said "no" was that there is always the Dakota instead. And all the Jeep fans were like, Is it called Dodge Easter Safari? Do Dakota owners buy em to go mod and take off-road? NO! Just look on forums and stuff about this thing, you will hardly see any negative to it being made, yet they passed it up claiming it was niche. go fig. And like I stated before, the reason I posted that article, was because it was VERY close to what was said in this months Jp Mag. The head guy at Chrysler was just quoted as to saying that same thing almost in some interview about the way jeep will be heading and if there is any chance for a true jeep truck being built for those that wanted this to be built 2 years ago. Alex
  9. most reviews i have seen on that ugly hearing-aid tan "concept" was that it was junk. nothing more then a newer style scrambler. which is NOT a truck. those of us that actually need a truck (i live on a farm, it needs to be able to do truck stuff) could not use that ugly tan thing. which that tan thing was not even a true concept, just a thing that some other company threw together to showoff. the AEV Brute is even far better then that thing and that is basically what this Gladiator is based on. the side spare is the smartest thing i have seen in a long time, who wants to crawl under their truck in the mud to get a spare down? all in all, i think it is time this post is shut down. seems to me it turning into one big thread about why we hate this truck and hate jeep and it just seems like its sort of out of what i was trying to go for here. I'm sorry but three pages of bickering about what has gone wrong with the jeep brand in the last few years (ok, since CDX got em) is not what this thread was for. you want to do that then start a debate thread, I'm sure that could go on for 1000s of pages. Alex
  10. And her is a pic, not very good but it's the best I could find of the front and drivers side without having to upload one on dial-up. Alex
  11. OK, so we get the point that Pat is no longer a Jeep fan. We can't keep 4dr JKs on the lot. And you have to wait over 6 months if you order one from Jeep (I know first hand). The new Libby will fail because they are ugly as hell, and I was JUST starting to like the old style. The Pat is halfway decent and look sweet on a lift and bigger tires. The Comp is a joke and should have never been added to the line. The Commanders are fine I guess and the new WJs are not halfway bad. The Gladiator Concept was one of the best Jeep concepts in the last few years or so. There is no "glass top" Pat, it's a canvas top that can be "rolled" back (stupid idea). The side spare was bad as hell, as was the six speed trans. The engine that was in it can't be used anymore because it was the CRD that failed in most states because EPA was changing laws as this thing came out for the show in '05. The huge tires and ground clearance plus short over-hang made this thing one of the best Jeep trucks ever. IF it comes out I will be getting one rather then the 4dr, but only if I can get a Cummins, Hemi, or some other nice sized powerful engine in it. Right now I can't decide if I want a 4dr, New Camaro, or see if the Gladiator comes out soon. And I stuck this article up because I couldn't find the one printed in this months Jp Mag. Now play nice all. Alex PS- The 4.0L V6 might make it into the JKs.
  12. http://www.jeeps.com/Jeep_gladiator_Jeep_gladiator_256331.html Time to bug Chrysler Group about this and make sure they don't change it if they do make it. Alex
  13. Jeff, those pics were exactly what I was looking for. Looks like I am going to be busy making some custom brackets. Unless I can track down a set of factory ones, might try that first. hornbrod, PM sent. Alex
  14. Brackets too or just hooks? Because I already bought those hooks, but if I can get a set of factory ones with brackets I'm sure I can return em. Alex
  15. I found some tow hooks at TSC the other day, almost identical to factory from what little I have seen of factory ones. What I need from you guys that have front hooks are pics. I need to see what the bracket looks like and where/how the hooks/brackets are mounted. I can't get my hands on any factory hooks or brackets so I thought I could take pics of the factory ones and make some close to them that would work with these hooks. Here are the ones I bought: http://www.reeseprod.com/fitguides/details.asp?ProdID=63030&dlr=0 There are also chrome ones (TSC didn't have or I would have bought these) http://www.reeseprod.com/fitguides/details.asp?ProdID=63029&dlr=0 So all you out there with factory hooks, help me out here. Alex
  16. Okay, I'll bite - why should a Jasper engine have higher oil pressure? Well if he is jokin idk what the joke is. I do know that it has only about 55k miles on the engine, full synth valveoline max life 10w-30, and that jasper tends to up the engines a bit since they stick their NASCAR tech into the motors they redo and build. I also have a K&N cold-air cone tube intake. upgraded plugs and wire, and roto cap. Once it goes in it will be gettin a complete overhaul. this way every tube, wire, pipe, plug, ect... is new. It will also get an upgraded oil pump, alt, and maybe a turbo... or was it a supercharger, i don't remember anymore. lol. plus the all steel cowl hood. but none of that addresses the issue here. I'm just running my jeep mouth again. So, that is why Jaspers are higher. If I'm not right then fill me in too Pat, along with any info you may have on the parts swap. lol. See ya all later. Alex
  17. OK, so it has been awhile since I have had to post anything. But I have been messing around with the 91 a bit more as of late, and I noticed the oil pressure seemed higher then I remember. So if someone could tell me what the oil pressure for a 91 High-Output would be it would help a lot. My gauge is reading about 55, idle at about 600. Seems to me the gauge use to read about 40 at idle. Only number I could find in my factory service manual is 13... so yea. It is going to have to be taken in to have some metal hoses on the radiator replaced and the E-Brake replaced, along with a few other minor things. I am just trying to make a list of what else needs repaired/restored once I get another car so I can actually be without the truck and not carless for work. On the good side of news, I got my custom plates ordered for it. 91 ELM8R. Thanks guys, Alex
  18. yep, those are what i was given from auto zone. but get this, they had the chrysler star on the keys like my ignition one does. but those things where way too hard to get out and try to actually replace for some doors that are shot anyways. the pass door will be up for grabs, along with the drivers one, once i swap to 97+ doors. the drivers one is bashed up from when the truck got hit. and I'm going for a show truck so I'm just going to replace em both. other then that, i think its coming along nicely. Alex
  19. count me in for a black hat with white stitch, and a white hat with black stitch for when I'm out in the fields in the killer summer sun. And i will take a few cozies, all we do is drink around the farm while working. Alex
  20. Yea, my bad... sort of. I ordered new doors locks, pass side was diff from drivers side, for a 91 MJ. I got home, yanked that one out (and man are they hard to get out with all that window crap behind the cyls), then realized that the doors were from an older MJ/XJ. I only had the key to the drivers side so i didnt stick that one back in. Sides, once I find some new doors (that match i hope with keys) it will be fixed. lol. So in short, they also changed lock cyls in 91, made em smaller. so they wouldnt work in place of older locks. I plan on swappin over to the 97+ style doors anyways, i just can't seem to find any that still have the interior door panel that are gray and complete manual locks/windows. Alex
  21. Doors are getting replaced, so I stuck em on the fenders. And they are not going to replace my badges... just make it so it can be read at night. Plus the bottom 3/4s of the entire truck, once the new bed and cab corner/rocker gets put on, will be white. tryin to stay close to factory elim paint with some custom stuff thrown in. Yea, that is a good shot for the corner... the rocker is smashed almost clear to the front though, sort of hard to make out. Alex
  22. Go to my 91 Eliminator 4x4 project topic, you may use any in there. Mine has Chrome bull-bar, chrome roll-bar, rusty 3" lift. need anything spec let me know, photography is my major. Alex
  23. *RUNS OFF TO EB GAMES TO BUY USED GAME* Been playing NES for the last week, now onto PSX!! **side note, there is a custom manche for vice city for pc to download. Alex
  24. Oh if I was rich, which we all know we would be if we didn't drive jeeps, that car would so be mine. lol. It's the style I have always wanted. But I wonder where the others are??? Alex
  25. Pics are in!! Enjoy! Next step: replace bed. cab corner/rocker, and doors. Then paint the bottom 3/4 white and stick my chrome side trim on. Then make a bed cover, and it will have a custom stock look to it. Alex
