How long ago did you order those? I might make a run back to the stealership and order some incase I ever find a rear bumper. Alex -

Parts Train is another good site. Have many MJ parts. I think they are 13 on there though. http://www.partstrain.com Alex -
I am looking for one for a 10 slotter. I found http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290099612172&fromMakeTrack=true on Ebay I may get but the guy said he doesn't know how many slots there are. I had him look for me and they said it looked like 7. But with it being brand new I am sure it is in a plastic bag or something inside the box. The part number they have listed is 55125-01. So I looked it up in this: http://www.global-accessories.com/corp/resources/2007/8306.pdf and it seems to match for the 86-87 MJs. If I get it and it turns out to not be a 10 slot would I be able to cut out the dividers then and just have the grille area open after sewing it over at the cuts? Alex

That helps a ton. I will have to take that into the local shop and see what they can do, they might not be able to the way its screen print to look faded on the bottom. Maybe I will see how much they would want to actually paint my white section onto an all black truck to make it look like that. Alex

Some detailed pics next to a measuring tape would be great help. Then I could take the pics and my truck to the local shop and see if they could make me some custom white ones, although silver might be pretty good looking. I didn't know the Elims were made into 4x4s till 91, or if I did I forgot. lol Alex

I have been using this pic for reference. Image Not Found And it was hard to tell if the white went clear to the bottom or not, now I see on yours that it does not. If I correct that or not I don't know, I guess if I get some flaps I will leave it otherwise I might stick the black on the very bottom for chip reasons. What do you think looks better having one yourself, leave it all white on the bottom or stock like yours is now? Alex

That is what I am going for, only with my personal touch. Prefer my 10 slotter and I have some new chrome 91 style headlight doors coming. I am also tracking down a 10 slot front bra. I also have my chrome side trim to put on too. If I could find some mud flaps I would have those too. Yours looks pretty clean in that pic. What year is it, 91 or 92? ejndssn, PM sent. Alex

Well, it has been awhile since an update so I thought one was needed. I spent yesterday painting the bottom of it white like the factory eliminators were. I can't find the "fader" pinstripes that goes above it all so it look weird. I also will not be putting my chrome side trim on for the fact that the dent won't let me do that and I don't want to add more tape to the back for when I get a new bed, doors, corner, and whatever else. And for reference this is what the factory eliminators had on em. Image Not Found And keep in mind, all that white was just done with rattle cans after prepping the paint below it. And the black paint was painted by maaco so it was all orange peeled, I think the white sort of smoothed it out. Only down side is that all the rust can be seen easier. Alex

Might want to get some more info on how to mess with the CAD "fix". But I will save you the time and hassle with that by allowing you to use my pics and writeup. http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/view ... 1&start=30 Alex

I love my Timberline A/Ts the most out of all the tires I have ever had, and trust me living on a farm and hitting fence posts adds up to ALOT of tires of the years. Sadly though, Dayton is closed, have been for awhile now. Any Daytons you see out there are all that is left. Bridgestone decided to close their smaller line down. Which I though had the best tires and the coolest looking ones (Timberline line of tires). No clue what I will go to once my A/Ts go bald. By then I hope to be on a 6" lift with 33"s. Alex

The Jeep JT concept......a new truck on the horizon?

Well, don't look at me. I can't do anything in photoshot but remove images from backgrounds. I have the original pics of the "Comanche Concept" and the Commander pic it came from if anyone wants to try it I will send em to ya. Alex -

The Canyons might be able to tow 4000lbs, but my MJ can pull way more then that, you should see the loads it handles around the farm. It just seems to me that that is still a tad weak. But then again even the full size GMs are weak when you look at Dodge and even Fords ratings. Too car like are the trucks of today. Can we say this enough times? lol Alex -

ABS... on an MJ... I didn't think that was done on the MJs, and neither was rear discs. Too bad though. I have a factory owners manual for my 91, and that is exactly what it says. They come on at about 50% power when the truck senses it is moving forward. I bet it just has to hit a certain speed and it kicks on till shut off. I mean, my 91 has the headlight delay timer so that they stay on after I turn the key off. So I am sure we are all thinking this is much harder then it is. Alex -
My 91 has a reman Jasper in it. And I could not be happier, they update everything when they do it. Only thing wrong with mine is it sat for too long without being started before I bought it that it now smokes with only 15k miles on it. Alex

Canadian daytime running lights questions
GirsMJ86 replied to GirsMJ86's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I run with all my lights on most the time anyways, I am just trying to get a factory setup for these things since they are out there from 91 on, and mine is a 91. Only issue I see is maybe having to replace light a little bit sooner. The glass lights in our MJs don't yellow like plastic lights of today, and if I was going to get heat issues I would already have em since I turn my lights on all the time as it is. Longest I ever drive it at one time is maybe 1 hour. Just got to keep in mind, going for a show truck here with all options and all the goodies that are not on a lot of these or never was offered. Sounds like they took this idea and ran with it... Image Not Found Oh, and as of right now there is no diesel for the Canyon/Colorado. There is a smaller DuraMax in the works, hush hush at this point. But the biggest engine in them right now is an inline 5. And it can only tow 3500lbs. Very weak. Alex -

That would be awesome. If it is just something extra on the fuse box or board or both or whatever that would be awesome. I don't think it would be that hard to install a factory setup. I mean I managed to stick some XJ stuff in it just fine. And this is what the manual for my 91 says. The don't come on with the ignition or when put into drive like newer cars, it comes on when the vehicle senses forward motion. Now I had no clue what that certain speed was, but now I do. It also says that it would make the light then come on at about 50% brightness. Alex -
Seems I remember seeing something about a turbo in an old JP mag, might have been a super though. I am actually thinking of getting rid of my A/C that doesn't work anyways and replacing it with a kit supercharger, turbo, or whatever it is. This will not happen till I get a metal cowl hood though, which run about 500 bucks. Alex

The Jeep JT concept......a new truck on the horizon?
GirsMJ86 replied to ComancheKid45's topic in The Pub
Exactly, and remember what the head guy at Jeep told us once they stated that the Gladiator Concept was red light, "There is always the Dakota". So it seems they still don't want the in house competition. Alex -

If I can figure out a way to make only the headlights work off the ignition, and the running lights and dash lights work off the factory headlight switch I will go this route. Oh, and the factory high beams stick switch still work of course. But this is not my area, electrical stuff and me does not work out too well. Alex -
The Jeep JT concept......a new truck on the horizon?
GirsMJ86 replied to ComancheKid45's topic in The Pub
I work at a light manufacturer. We ust got the new Chryco stuff for our Jeep line. Pics and all. Lets just say you aren't too far off the mark with a cummins gladiator style, but the package we got shows some neat stuff. Its all security though, so no pics and forget I ever told you :brows: Told us what Colton? 8) I know how that stuff goes, I could tell you things GM doesn't want anyone to know after working at the dealership in sales. We would get briefed on all the new stuff and everything, what we could say if a customer walked in and asked about the rumors. Same thing when I was at the Jeep dealer, but thats all old news now, like the Libby and all that jazz. I have heard rumors of the JKs maybe getting the dodge 4.0 and maybe the Cummins. Since I guess most are not impressed with the 3500lbs towing limit. And if the JKs got the Cummins and a Jeep Truck came out, I would be hard pressed to be able to pick between a 4dr JK or the truck. The Jeep JT concept......a new truck on the horizon?
GirsMJ86 replied to ComancheKid45's topic in The Pub
The new ones right? Yes, the bed was separated from the cab. The front of the bed/back of the cab was the same piece though. It was the floor, sides of the bed, and tailgate that made up the bed on the new Gladiator. The front of the bed/rear of the cab was a pass-through like on the Avalanches. I could do without that but I just some people would like it. The way it worked was like this, the sides of the bed wrapped around the sides of the cab a few inches and the rear of the cab sort of curved into the bed area a few inches. But only the outer shell of the bed did this "wrapping" the inside "plastic" of the bed did not, it cut over to the outer shell one way and then got up flush with the front of the bed/rear of the cab. When the front of the bed was folded down into the cab (after the rear window was rolled inside of it) it made the extra floor and the rear of the front seats made the front of the bed, which were lined on the back with plastic or something. Its really hard to explain. It was a lot easier to understand when you actually saw it and how it worked. If you meant the old Gladiators, they only came separate. lol Alex -

Might take a look at a 95-96 next time I am in a JY, or see what I can find from online. I would like to have em because my 91 is getting all the other bells and whistles (XJ Waggy control center, XJ OHC comp/temp, and whatever else i can throw into it) for when I get it into car show shape its sort of unique and special.
