Better Light For Night Time Driving
Goose replied to 88MJNC's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
H4 housings and Ddm tuning hid upgrade. -
I was pulling a friends Rubi out of a mudhole last night and couldn't get the tcase in 4 low. It would shift into place, but not engage. The part TIM light would come on, but no low light. It worked two weeks ago, only difference was the outside temp. 65 two weeks ago, 15 last night.

Does he belong to any jeep clubs that you know of? If not, and he wants to meet some cool people and fellow jeep enthusiasts and do some wheeling, tell him to check out Red Dirt Jeeps on Facebook.

What Is This Guy Worth?
Goose replied to 88eliminatorkwy's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
I paid 2k for my 88 longbed. It depends on how often they POP up in your area. I jumped on mine because you never see them here in Oklahoma. I'd offer him 2k and be willing to pay 2200, but that's just me. -
How different is your steering response?
-
Ok, so I'm a pretty big guy, 6'1", 270lbs. My steering wheel sits in my lap. No tilt column. I'm thinking of switching steering wheels, maybe going with a quick disco set up. For those of you that have supermarket wheels, how did it affect driving/steering? What wheel did you go with?

My Longbed Manche Build-Up in Florida
Goose replied to hermes542's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
I know this is a super old thread, but I was looking at roof rack ideas on Google and this truck popped up. Did you just weld the rack to the bar in the bed? And it looks like you used a gutter mount bar for the front. Ubolts or welded? -
There is a reason yota's are used all over the world. That and Nissan's. But there is also a reason we all own comanches. We love jeeps, are jeep loyal, and wanted a truck. I get the best of both worlds, a jeep and a truck, all in one. I also don't see many comanches but I see plenty of Toyota's. I had my manche for 2 weeks and had 3 people ask to buy it. Nobody ever offered to buy my tacoma.

Went to look at the seats. They weren't worth it. The sluts on the other hand......

So the bench in goose is shot. Not unuseable, but broken down. I have been looking for mj buckets or buckets from a 2 door Cherokee, both hard to find here in OK. I've got a line on some racing buckets with padded covers for $50. What are the pro's/cons of that type of seat? 37" tall, will they fit? Also found a winch bumper from a cj7 for $30, comes with the rear bumper w/ receiver hitch as well. Worth it to make it fit or better to make one? Also, how much do winch bumpers for mj/XJ usually weigh? This one seems a bit heavy. ^^^I've seen this done where they mount both roof bars from an XJ, looks good.

Does it matter which body style they come off of?

Well, the lkq parts yard in town is running 50% off all parts New years day. Going to grab some s10 springs, along with anything else I find, lol.
-
Yeah, it is a bit tall with kc's. I'm putting a 30" led on mine.

So perhaps s10 main spring, with the eyes cut off? -
Can't find any New springs.

Ok. I have a 2" spacers up front, and a 1" shackles lift in the rear. I clearly have a sagging @$$-end. I just want another 1"-1 1/2" in the rear. What's the best way to active this?
-
Sheesh. I bought mine from a friend and fellow local jeep club member. 40 min round trip, stopping to get some amazing BBQ on the way home. Drove it for 3 days before I had to replace the clutch master.
