I think that is the BEST 2nd post I have ever seen since the Internet went public. lol

That's pretty sweet too.

That's very cool. 8)

I know about the energy because I did a lab in my physics class about objects being stuck and the amount of force you need to remove them and the amount of energy and tension between the two objects is pretty scary (especially dealing with cars) there are 2-3 clubs that have websites but nothing big, not alot of meets and all trailrides are at least 3-4 hours away. No jeep club in your area? Go start one..not that hard to do.

Yup, auto parts/ scrapper yard. I doubt there is anything I will need off of it. I need to power the starter, distrib, and alt. That's about it. 8)

Mary Kay becomes an organ donor Bought it Saturday, had Valentine's day, and went out first thing yesterday morning. Some pics: There's a reason that bracket in the middle looks "raw" ....Sawzall. My favorite tool yesterday. For on board air: Rad is out. Out they come: and away..... it goes: It was only here for 48hours.

I think I will take from this discussion that the fridge will act as an insulating unit, but will only do so for a few degrees of temperature change. It stands to reason that it will adjust it's thermostat to cool as needed, but on the other hand it won't actually create heat to increase the temp. The second thing I think I will take from this is that beer in a fridge does not freeze in an unheated garage - in the lower part of the US. Like Sir Sam (I think) pointed out, I'm in Canada. I was thinking more along the lines of "upper teens" like CW mentioned, not our usual freeze the balls off a brass monkey type of cold. :D Wow...didn't think I'd get so many replies. :clapping:

Will it freeze,if left in a small fridge in an unheated garage? :dunno:

Good to know 81 Deville 2dr. THM200-4R/200-4R tranny. No clue on the carb. I've been looking for a 4.1 V6 for over a year.
-
I did get it just for the engine. I haven't really thought about doing anything else to it, as I just need to get rid of it (no room here). Whoops....
-
Thx for doing that. :)

This one is the Buick 4.1 V6 252cid. It was an alternative to the Buick V8-6-4 engine that was designed to save fuel by running on 8,6,or 4 cylinders as needed....great idea, 30 years or so too early to make it work. I've been hunting for one. I found a Google cached view of an ad for this car for $350. I then posted an ad looking for that person who placed the ad, and someone emaled me his number the next night. It was a Mary Kay, given to a daughter, someone backed into the front, then parked, sold for a project, forgotten, then sold to me. 167,000kms or 103,000 miles. The odometer only shows five digits, and I doubt it is 67,000km or 43,000miles. Do you have any idea on any desirable components to pull off of it? Like maybe the computer?

I hate to say it, but I see the attraction to these highway cruisers....it is by far the most comfortable thing I have driven. Much more comfortable than my leather couch even. :chillin:
-
It's a replacement for my 1948 Willys' Buick 3.8 V6.

fyi, THAT caddy 4.1 v6 block is somewhat in demand by YOURS TRULY. :D Good eye.

X2, X3, or Xhowevermany on the broken blood vessel. ;) That was your cue to talk about how you've been stressed lately, but some new parts for the rigs would be nice, as working on them helps you to relax.
-
....cause I kind of doubt he thought I'd actually drive it home. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

The Iltis is a cool rig. Some people hate them, but as a 17 year old driving them 20 years ago, they'd go anywhere on the base we took them....the base is about 60km x 40km in size altogether.
-
Wow...glad she is safe.
-
I'm pretty sure it was the 4.0 like the XJ until 2001.
-
I hate you. :D Sweet rig.

BTW, it would be a good idea for ALL of you to Google "hyperacusis" if you like to work without hearing protection. It's a real eye-opener.
-
James, do a search for "hyperacusis". My wife and I are former band teachers....we know all about it. http://www.hyperacusis.net/ http://www.chat-hyperacusis.net/ It cannot be described to someone who has not had it.

Well....so much for making jokes. :shake: Went in for an asthma attack this morning, and ended up getting TOSSED to the ER room for testing for a possible heart attack. Seems I have an irregular heart beat that I may have had my whole life, just diagnosed this morning.
