Well, for $500, It's a 4.0L HO, 5 Spd, 2WD... there is more rust than what appears in the pics, but not on any of the body parts that I'm concerned about (windhshield frame, roof, etc, etc). Clearcoat is pretty beat up, but again not in the Passenger Fender or Front Clip, so those are still usable. The Seats are pretty good... a couple small tears on the side and back, but I can get covers easy enough and the seats are not real gross... the Console was junk.. It had a nice looking Kenwood Stereo, that I assume stays and is worth something assuming it works. The Rear bumper was mashed, but probably not worth much to me anyhow. The 15x8 Wrangler Rims were very nice, tires shot, but I think I can get $200-$250 for them... I just got off the phone with DMV and because the registration expired in 2007, it's going to cost me $200 to register (and still won't get a title because it can't be smogged) or $100 to get a "Junked" title... Plus another $100 to get it towed... I think it might be more hassle than it's worth for some "OK" Body Parts, some "OK" Seats and some Rims that I'm going to sell anyhow... Thoughts? Should I seal the deal, or walk away? Oh Yah, a big wasps nest in back hatch just for a bonus...

It's a feature in Norton Security in the privacy settings. I think you can also in your IE goto tools - internet options - privacy - advanced - overide - then click "prompt". At the very least you will prompted that the site wants to write a cookei and get the name of the cookie then delete it and vote again. Meh, I'll just wait the minute... I'm at work, and got nothing better to do than stuff the ballot box every minute.

Did someone say there was a way to disable cookies or something so we could vote "faster"? SW2

Geek Here... I have no experience with the Complete ASUS systems, but have used thier Motherboards forever in my personally built PC's (with good results). With that being said, I'm typing this reply on an older Dell XPS 1210 Notebook now, and wouldn't really consider buying any other brand. While some people aren't crazy about their service and support, I've always been really happy...We also support thousands of Dell business systems at work and all of my techs swear by them (over HP, although we are going to be adding Lenovo into the mix soon). I say go for the Dell... Memory is quite cheap and I personally think you are getting a system with a better track record, one that you will more readily and easily get parts and accessories for... I just like to stick with the name I know and trust...DELL Good luck (and thanks for not asking a MAC question because then I would have had to ignore you!) SW2

So I'm still going to see this thing tomorrow at lunch... after another email from the guy I found out that it's not currently registered and I'm not sure if the guy who is selling it has a title, at least one in his name (since it wasn't running when he got it and so it couldn't be smogged), but I'm guessing the same kind of deal that I signed away the 87 MJ even though the title wasn't in my name because I couldn't smog it, and the registration was current. SO for those CA DMV Expert guys... If I buy this, I assume that I won't be able to get a title (because it's still won't get smogged.) If I want to just pick the thing clean and then sell to a Pick-n-Pull or Recycler, will I have a problem with the DMV/No Title/No Registration thing? I've never "scrapped" a vehicle in Cali before, so I had no idea how that works OR I get a new Head (which the guy with the XJ Boneyard already said he would have one that would fit), get the thing running and then goto the DMV and try to get it regstered and sell it for more $$$ (after stealing the seats/console, etc for my MJ) Wade

Jt, you know I'm in for a few votes! SW2

Thanks Eagle... in the exchange of emails he said they were recently added "Wrangler" rims, which leads me to believe more likely 15x8

Didn't ask... the ad said it was blown..

Cept I want the Buckets, Front Clip and Fender for my MJ... Not sure what Engine/Tranny, etc it has, but for $400-$500 I may not care...I could get $100 for the Wheels and Tires, part out everything else out and probably still be able to sell to the local PnP for a profit... I think the guy just wants it gone! Sw2

$400-$500 I think would be pretty easy...

I just got a couple pics... Yah, I think I need to go look at this... would I be able to use this Front Passenger Side Fender? I wasn't sure about the "cladding"
-
Meh... you can't take it with you... But yeah, I have a spending problem... But I did sell the 87 MJ so for the same $$$ I might be able to get some stuff that I can use for my 89 MJ... SW2

I'm going to go look at one on Monday to see if it would work for a parts truck... It has a blown head and the guy said it's been sitting in his work parking lot for a few months. Sounds pretty complete (other than a toast engine). It's white, so I was thinking if the front fender/front clip are nice and the seats/console were decent that it might be worth to get for parts. I'd probably just part the thing and then scrap the rest since it won't pass smog and licensing would be impossible in Cali... thoughts? (Would the 93 Front Body Parts work on my 89 MJ?) SW2

Should I buy this Engine Puller and Stand - $100 Craigslist
SuperWade2 replied to SuperWade2's topic in The Pub
I don't have a ton of room in the Garage, and I'm going to be pulling from the side, probably (and then rolling the truck back probably, so I planned on pulling the tranny from under the truck seperate from the engine... -
Should I buy this Engine Puller and Stand - $100 Craigslist
SuperWade2 replied to SuperWade2's topic in The Pub
Would it make sense, since I need to get chains or something anyhow for my engine hoist to go ahead and get one of these engine load levelers? Would I still need chains to hook to the ends of the shorter chains from the leveler? I don't even know when I'm going to get to pull this engine, but I got nothing better to do that plan for it... Project "Eliminator"
SuperWade2 replied to 89eliminator's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
Man, that just makes me want to run down to the LineX place here and get mine done... I don't have the Four+ Benny's to spare right now... Did you do anything other than take all your stuff out of the bed... any other prep work, etc or does LineX scrub bed and stuff before it gets sprayed... SW2 -
Probably Stereo and speakers since it didn't have any... Took the Push Bar off as soon as it came home...probably doesn't count as a mod... Swapped Rims/Tires was pretty early on also...

Speedo Re-calibration??
SuperWade2 replied to summerinmaine's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Rust? What is this rust of which you speak? :brows: One of the many great things about living in Kalifornistan. We get a bit of surface corrosion from living on the ocean, but it's rarely structural. :agree: :agree: -
Speedo Re-calibration??
SuperWade2 replied to summerinmaine's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It is, and as stated VERY easy to swap and relatively cheep as well. Not a huge issue... Quite possibly the hardest part is locating the correct gear to purchase? -
Speedo Re-calibration??
SuperWade2 replied to summerinmaine's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
My TJ was about 15-25 mph off (15 @30mph and 25 @60mph)... it cost a total of about $20 for the right tooth speedo gear, and took about 5 minutes to swap... I don't know if it's the same deal with the MJ's but if that's it, I don't think it's a huge issue to resolve... SW2 -

Junkyard score..and does anyone want some 2-door XJ seats?
SuperWade2 replied to Pete M's topic in The Pub
Meh... I don't have the Extra right now anyhow... will hold out for something local... Not in a hurry... It's had a bench for nearly 20 years, a few more months won't kill me... SW2 -

SuperWade2 replied to Pete M's topic in The Pub
Yah, but i'm guessing that Pete doesn't REALLY REALLY want to mess with trying to find boxes and packaging and stuff for seats... "It's totally up to you to figure out how to ship and how much that would be." -

SuperWade2 replied to Pete M's topic in The Pub
If shipping wouldn't cost me my left one I need a Grey Set, but I think the Shipping would be a deal breaker... sW2
