Bucket Seat "Skins" - Can you Wash em?
SuperWade2 replied to SuperWade2's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Ok, I caved... I don't have a pressure washer or paint thinner, so I just tossed the passanger covers in the cloths washer... Gentle, cold wash/rinse and slow spin... We'll see in an hour or so how it turns out... We don't use or have fabric softner... -
Bucket Seat "Skins" - Can you Wash em?
SuperWade2 replied to SuperWade2's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Meh... I decided to nix the washing the cover idea...they aren't that bad...I'll scrub the crap out of em and if I can't get em as clean as I want, I'll just get a set of covers... I got the skin off the base easy enough, but started on the back and it was a total pain in the butt, so I figured it wasn't worth the hassle. Sw2 -
Bucket Seat "Skins" - Can you Wash em?

I assume I'm suppose to take the Metal Clips/Pins out of the cover before it goes in the washer... Also, what's the secret to popping off the head-rest? Sw2 -
Bucket Seat Covers? Can the Cloth Skins for Buckets be removed from the Frames/Cushions and be washed (Laundry?) I thought I remember seeing a thread about cleaning seats... I scrubbed with some carpet/fabric cleaner and some Simple Green and got most of the nastys off, but still not QUITE as nice as I'd like them before I get em installed in the MJ. They will do, and I can probably just buy covers to go over the top (suggestions), but thought it might be nice if I can try get these cleaned up first. Thx Sw2

No and Yes... No they don't share, and yes you can have different browsers and each vote I'm not gonna go get Safari and Opera browser, but with 2 PC's with IE and Firefox on each, I can get 4 votes per min... We are up to almost a 300 vote lead again... we need to put some distance between "US" and Lil-Sis (does she really go around with her hair like that daily, or was it just for that glamor shots sitting?) There were about 10 empty water Bottles ($.05/ea recycle) and over a dollar in change under the seats, so that's $1.50 closer to my total...

180K on the 4.0... the Roof/Trim has quite a bit of rust (which is Odd for a Cali Truck, but :???: ) And I guess I don't know for sure that the head is blown... I think the guy I bought it from knew very little and had some shop or something tell him it was blown. It turns over, but never starts. How would a person check if the head were in fact blown? Sww

Little sis is catching up, "our" Steph is only about 50 ahead now... There has to be a way we can defeat the 1 minute cookie checker thing easily and really pump up these #'s... ***EDIT***OK fella's, I just pumped in another 50 (I have 6 or 7 PC's within hands reach), so he is back to a lead of 100... but I have some things to take care of so won't get many more votes in today.. Good Idea, Pete... Anyone have suggestions (or have extra) inexpensive, decently fitting Seat Covers for an XJ? The tops of these aren't bad and just need a scrub... the backs/sides have a few small tears that I probably should tape and then cover to keep from from getting too large... SW2

I never was a good listener... I got him to drop $100, so I got it for $400 (plus whatever the DMV and $100 to tow)...

Is that a left coast thing......the "junk" title??? Here in NY, I buy a junker, get a "bill of sale" and the title signed by the owner (name on the title) and just file it, scrap the truck and done. DMV don't know nothing. Plus, we don't sniff test anything older that '96 :D :agree: Yah the Title and Registration kind of go together, you don't get either one without the other. In order to "Junk" a car (Send it to the Scrapper/PnP/Recycler) you need a Junk Certificate and in order to get that you have to pay all the old registration fees that the last dude didn't pay... totally messed up...

JKS swaybar disco problem.
SuperWade2 replied to james750's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Something like this... I beat the crap out of mine and it barely went on... I had to bend the Pin and the mount just a little bit each to get it even on there... don't know if it's gonna gone off "easily" or not... -

Well, the guy that bought my 87 MJ already said he would give me $200 plus a set a beater Rims and Tires for the AX-15/Clutch, etc, etc from the XJ... So assuming I can get $200 for the rims, $200 for the Tranny, I'm only down about $300 that I need to make up in Parts and or Scrap to break even (adding in the Tow and DMV Fees). I dunno that doesn't sound so bad... I'm also gonna see if I can get the guy down to $300 since it was his fault that the registration was never paid, and I think he wants it gone... SW2
