  1. I thought about finding a way to hard wire it, but I have yet to do so as it has 2 hot wires going into it and no wires feeding out.
  2. FIXED. turns out it was the ballast resistor on the drivers fender. mechanic said it is very common on older chrysler motors and most people just carry a spare in the glove box.
  3. nice find. my 2.5 2wd has the 23.5 gal. tank in it for some crazy reason.
  4. so I replaced the fuel pump and filter, along with making sure all the lines are not blocked. now the truck will run for roughly 30 seconds and then sputters out, if I try to give it a little gas it chokes out, but if I squirt some gas directly into the throttle body it will smooth out for a second or two. I am completely baffled by this issue and I need my truck back on the road asap. btw, it is a 91 2.5l
  5. I do custom metal fabrication. the little shop I work at does alot of extremely high doller stainless steel countertops and sinks. we also just made about 400 feet of 16 gauge stainless steel gutter for a big company by madison, wi. oh and IT networking/communications specialist for the army.
  6. 2.5l motor. I'd do the wp but having to buy a chain and gears is all the money I had. the whole kit, chain, gears, and tensioner is $56 bucks at oriellys before my discount.
  7. hey ya'll. well it seems my timing chain is going bad, should all the sign of no fuel...changed fuel filter now it runs. choked out when you gave it gas, checked vacuum lines, no leak, it's getting fuel, but almost no airflow out the exhaust. cut the muffler and cat (after checking after each cut) still chokes out. came to the conclusion that it is in the timing. I have done cap, roter, and plugs. but I don't know if the chain has ever been serviced. so how much of a pita is it to do the chain?
  8. well I think I finally figured out the death wobble, the bushing on the end of the center link is all sorts of busted up... in other news, I found out today that the lowering mechanism for my spare tire is seized up with rust and ice. so I am missing a day of work because I can't get there and have to buy 2 new tires. $$#!&!!!
  9. I did this on my 99 new beetle with 66 bug moons. I actually measured the ID of the hub caps and drilled holes in my factory steel wheels for the clips and then riveted the clips in, help great untill I started doing a fair bit of front end work and the clips got wore out and started to rust from the snow/salt.
  10. ok, so no need to worry about any of that, found out today that the right side tie rod end link broke
  11. not quit that extreme, but this is a street jeep, 2wd with 2.5l. I'm looking for improved cornering. alexia- is that all the stuff I need to properly to the tie rods?
  12. ok, so I ahve the death wobble and have decided to just replace all the ball joints and tie rod ends due to the mileage of the eurojeep. the tie rod ends are confusing the crap out of me, which ones do I need for a 91 rwd? and can I run the lower adjustable ball joints so I can give it some negative camber?
  13. the hmmwv does not have any system like that, but the bigger 2.5 adn 5 ton trucks do and I believe the mrap also has it. all the hmmwv has are kevlar run flats
  14. I like how it's on a mil spec hmmvw, the military would be the last people to use that.
  15. my uncle ran a pinto engine in back when he raced at the local track, had it linked to a mustang 2 driveline. he also had the fasted streeted (but not legal) car in the tri-city area and it was an orange pinto wagon with a bunch of racing mods done to the engine from the track.
  16. I want to slap the $#!& out of the dip$#!& that called the passat performance concept boring and vanilla, ya it looks like a standard passat. THAT BECAUSE IT'S A PASSAT YOU DUMBASSES, NOT A DIFFERENT MODEL. the jeep looks good minus the small headlamps and that camera looking thing right in the middle of the front bumper. also, the bmw 4 series looks so much different that the 3 series. all in all, I'm glad has more qualifications to right reviews than these idiots.
  17. how did you have a 92 or 93 pinto jim? they stopped making them in 80
  18. nice, work. nice to see another dubber around here
  19. tomorrow or wednesday cannot come fast enough. depends on when work feels like paying me this week.
  20. that was a nice looking truck, those nincompoops need to be publicly hanged after being pelted with tomatos.
  21. our propane tank here ran out a week and a half ago and since we just got it filled to 50%(don't ask why it was under that, I only rent my room) about a month and a half ago. dang propane company won't fill us up untill we pay for that tiem and this time upfront.
  22. the last part to this automotive puzzle will be the farenhiet orange pant that was on the 08 gti.

  24. rim decision has been made to get 16x8 RML snowflakes. now to decide on 1 or 3 peice wheels. http://fifteen52.us/...0767&id=1622457 as for the mk5 interlagos plaid, that may or may not happen. from my research, if you can find it, it is crazy expensive so I may have to settle to the mk1 plaid cloth that looks really close to interlagos. can a mod change the thread title to project eurojeep please?
  25. I'm even considering selling my 90% complete 71 super beetle to fund this
