thats exactly what I thought at first also.

a few years ago a friend on mine took oen of those big 500ci cadi engines and tossed it in a 'camino. he did all the math down to what gears/tires/...well, everything adn was getting 24 mpg solid no matter what from it.

coming from the vw world. anything will fit in anywhere, all you need is bracketry.

the federal gov. would do that if they didnt make ten fold that money on the illegal sales of it.

damn truck, I stopped at the auto parts store to pick up some dot 3 fluid, went to fill it and the master is still full. I am going to try and bleed the slave tomorrow but I need to fix this now.

just got back from voting.

well I was wrong, the slave is shot. I wen tto vote today and have very little clutch at first, then nothing. and to top it off, I broke the shifter handle off the shift rod right at the base of the threads. At least I have a friend with a welder right down the street to fix that one.

looks like the 4wd swap, or at least ax-5 swap will come sooner than planned. my slave is slowly leaking, but I am able to fill the master back up and keep it going.

I'm probably going to buy a refurbed ax-5 off ebay (so most likely a wrangler. and yes, it will be external slave

I plan on swapping to an ax-5 so I am one step closer to my 4wd conversion. so yes, I am gratefull for this slow leak instead of a complete break

Hmmm, I did just add some fluid to the master because after looking again (the lighting is a bit better outside now) I could see the top of something, sop I filled her up. clutch is back. but I don't see any wet fluid on the inside of the master by the pedal assembly or the ourside on the firewall.

call me what you want, but is the difference between 4wd and 2wd as simple as putting a 4wd front on on it ir is the entire trans different? because it seems that all the ax-5 stuff on fleebay is 4wd, but there had to be some 2wd ones.

I'm game for 3, there are 3 things you never have to many of.....cars, hats, and coozies.

to start this off, I have already checked for leaking in the interior and eterior, and there is non. no fluid on the fuse block whatsoever. last night all oif a sudden my clutch wouldnt disengauge so I could get into the next gear (hooray for rpm shifting) now it won't even let me into any gear adn the clutch pedel goes right to the floor boards, is this a larger issue or just a clutch. (it does have 280,600 and I have no clue if it was ever replaced. I should also ad that there is fluid in the master (the little cap right next to the brake booster?) but not sure where the full mark is. It may not sound like it but I am mechanically inclinded, I am just learning how to work on american vehicles for the first time. I have always owned german.

well the clutch decided to go out while I was driving home today....to bad I can't get a good ax-5 for the price of a clutch.

hey man, just wondering what kind of mpg's your getting on that rig. from the few pages I had time to read it looks like a nice build.

does anyone know if there is a company out there that makes a hard tonue cover for the mj? I want to get ride of the cap so I can mount my cb antennea on the bed and because I like the looks withouth the cap better.

honestly aside from the fact that alot of you guys (like most vw guys) are diyers who build everything thingselfves except for the parts going on, I'd just buy the stage 1 kit so you have the mounts. I have emailed hpa and recieved a response from the sales team stating that my question about an mj conversion kit was forewarder to the guy in charge of the project. heck, I'd even let them use my truck as a guinnea pig.

an sks will run about 3-4 hundred whereas a mosin can be picked up for as little as 90
