yeah in the rear, my tires almost rub the inside of the bed wheel well... so 12fittys on my wheels won't work, at least not well.. i cut my front fenders, maybe 1/2"...i plan on cutting the hell out of them next weekend... but ill have to fold the inner seam pinch weld over because it rubs there too.... bumpstops?? WHY?? LOL

Gas Mileage Issues - Now AW4 Issues
Confedneck replied to 500 MJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
fast idle could also be a faulty CKP... i would start with a full tuneup -
so my 89 is lifted 3" with spacers and shackles... i have 31 10fittys on 15x8s with about 3.5" of backspace.... youve seen my fender cutting, without the swaybar and my suspension maxed, my front tires rub the fender ALL over... i want 33s... so what do you think i should go with on my lift plans?? I'm thinking SOA rear, 4.5" coils with acos and custom fabbed long arms.. as well as trim my front fenders more... anyone have a setup lift similar to this? what size tires and wheels you got?

88 xj i paid 1k for, had to have it, overheated on the way home, topped off the coolant with spicket water at a gas station and took it and flexed it on some plastic sewer pipe.... sold it the next week for 1200 (300 down and 100 a month) and the kid never paid me off... when he joined the marines, i got it back, and at the time, i had another 88, a 92 and a 93zj... sold it for 400 bucks with a disc'd 4.10 8.8 then was the 86 chevy best 4wd i ever owned.... then the 87 turbo 4 runner, coolest dash of anything i ever owned...

Confedneck replied to bryanwber's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'm pretty sure you're gonna have to get an adapter to run a 6.51:1 first gear GM tranny behind a 4.0 heep engine -
even if i havent stickered it to it yet?

is it ok??/ i want to rename my mj from 'goatrider' to 'misfit' because when we were wheeling, i was the ONLY nonbarbie out there lol and the only one without doors... so can i do it??

Confedneck replied to BLHTAZ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs

Gotem'...now to install them...
Confedneck replied to BLHTAZ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
brent, i posted on fjoa about your noise, but what the hey.... if you tightened the springs up without the weight of the vehicle on them, that could be undue binding in the bushings once the weight is on them, so loosen them up and spray some silicone or blaster around them then tighten them back up with the vehicle on the ground and the weight on the springs... if all else fails, use blue teflon grease (available at a ford dealer), it fixes almost EVERY squeak lol... ohh when you loosen the spring bolts, shake the truck side to side and up and down to settle the suspension a little.. -
