  1. I swapped in a new cluster from an 89 XJ. Everything works except the speedo. I pulled the speedo gear and reseated it, then I checked the speedo cable to make sure it was still in the speedo gear. I think I may have messed it up when I reset the odometer. The odometer does work. Can I swap the speedo in from my old cluster? I will rev it and see if it goes over 2000.
  2. Does it stall while you still have the clutch pressed down or when you release the pedal?
  3. As most know I put in a new cluster and my speedo is not working. Pete wrote the other day he can judge speed by his RPM's. The highest my RPM gauge goes is around 2000, even at highway speed. Is this right or is my tach not working properly either?
  4. I don't know why the FSM says tighten to spec then lower vehicle. If you did it that way I would think all the bushings would bind up.
  5. I would try to support it at the frame with jack stands and put a jack under the fron diff to let the axle hang if you need it. Also, the fsm says tighten and then lower the truck :dunno:
  6. The fsm says: upper at axle: 55ft/lbs and 66ft/lbs at the frame lower at axle: 133ft/lbs it doesnt list seperate so must be the same at frame
  7. I think it is finger tight until you drop it down and get weight on it, then you need to tighten them. I will check my fsm and see if i can find the torque

    The LHC.

what is it supposed to do? Remember when they first tested the atomic bomb they thought it might actually ignite the atmosphere, but they still did it.
  9. If you get the whether stripping for around the whole door get it for a 97 and up 4 door cherokee. It is thicker and seals better. I just got some from someone who was parting out a 98 xj sport. Hopefully i get to put them on this week. brent, from that pic i think the window wipes are #'s 9 and 10. and the other molding are 7 and 11. # 11 i believe is the real expensive one, like $100  I will be looking for 4 door xj's ay the jy this weekend. But a good price on some new ones would be much better ;)
  10. My bad. When you said get behind the motor mount i thought you were talking about freeze plugs.
  11. here's a good write up( with pics :D ): http://gojeep.willyshotrod.com/HowtoWelshPlugs1.htm
  12. The temp sensor should be on the block in the back near the MAP sensor. I think there is one freeze/coolant plug on the back of the engine that will be very hard to reach.

    FIGHT...!!!

I had no idea that rabbits fought. One question tho brent, How do you deal with the rabbit turds all around from having him out of the cage? I had a chinchilla and would s#*t everywhere when i let it run around.
  14. Only 2 spaces left.
  15. BTT. Still need 5 more.
  16. Thats a good idea rob. Just a regular lock that reaches around both pedals. I never thought of that.
  17. Same here. I hate that type of search set up. Theres a few sites like that and i can never find anything.
  18. The main thing you don't hear on this site is "Use the search Button". On this site someone will search for you and post the link. It takes just as long to answer as it does to post that lame response.
  19. $15 bucks is cheap. I will be going over there to look right now. Thanks, Wahoo.
  20. The tach works too. Just the speedo that isnt working. I took out the speedo to reset the odometer, so I'm wondering if i some how messed up the needle. Can I swap the speedo in from my old cluster? I don't see why it would be a problem.
  21. What about the wires?
  22. Good deal. My headlight switch works the floor lights and the b pillar lights.
  23. maddzz, bad experience with teamcherokee? wolfpack, wholesalemopar.com has them in individual pieces whereas you have to buy all the pieces with teamcherokee. fyi, if you need all the pieces, the price works out the same with either supplier. No bad experience. I just think they are very expensive. I have actually bought from them and had a good experience and will again in the future. I may have to break down and atleast get the window wipes as mine are almost non existent on the outside. I'm pretty sure you can buy the individual pieces from team cherokee too.
  24. Turn the knob for the headlights to the left. It is probally turned to the right which turns on the dome lights.
  25. Thats my next course of action. Pull the dash apart and see if the speedo itself is broken. I took it out to reset the odometer to match my original cluster. The odometer is working if that means anything
