  1. Same basic chemistry with the phosphate. In simplest terms, it converts iron oxide to iron phosphate (from red to black). They are both iron oxide (rust) converters rather than removers, so very good for our MJ's. Most replacers have the vinyl acrylic coating, which is the post-conversion protective coating.
  2. Yeah, another interesting note is that Barium Sulfate is used when an internist wants to conduct an upper and lower GI scan. Either you drink it or it enters the body through the 'exit only' valve.
  3. If you were seeing double it would be an 8x8. This is real. Because sometimes four wheeling just isn’t good enough, Wild Boar Products has created the JK6 Wheeler custom Jeep. The California-based accessory specialist has stretched the frame of the four-door Wrangler and added a second Dana live axle in the rear. The two are connected by a 2.5-foot collapsible driveshaft that allows for full articulation, and power from the stock 3.6-liter V6 can still be sent to the front wheels providing 6x6 drive. Designed for long distance off-roading, the JK6 has a 65 gallon gas tank providing a range of over 1,000 miles and can be customized pretty much anyway you want it. The company is currently in talks with the Alaska State Police to build a few of them as wilderness patrol vehicles. Prices start at $69,000 and the sky’s the limit from there. You can even get a roof top tent in case you need a nap. A thousand miles is a long way to go between rest stops. Read more: http://www.foxnews.c...k#ixzz2A3uGWV7o
  4. You may be sorry you asked. Most likely it is a displacement reaction. The barium sulfate is the active which 'kills' the rust (iron oxide). The iron replaces the barium and the compound iron sulfate is formed (along with barium oxide which is black or dark grey in color). Neither of these are strong oxidizers of metal so they are essentially much less harmful and require very favorable conditions to oxidize the metal - high moisture, temp, etc. The other functional compound is the copolymer which forms a very hard coating. The acid is the carrier for the barium sulfate which is insoluble in water. The water is the carrier for the polymer. The other components compatibilize the acid and water. Yep, chem nerd here. ChemE and Polymer Chemist.
  5. Those are too Cool. Great vids. Even better than I expected. Thanks!
  6. For you die hard Comanche collectors, here's a little toy for you. Would love to see a vid of this thing. http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/for/3354370955.html
  7. Great info. Thanks. New cluster with tach, so I'll check the RPMs and calibrate with another vehicle at same speed. New catalytic converter and muffler. Truck seems to run great. If I'm getting 70mph or so, that's fine... Mostly I drive the country roads here in north Georgia. But I drive this truck to the airport a few times per month. Mpg has been about 24 for the first couple of tanks. 10-20 mph drop with tire size change? Never would have guessed that much. Appreciate the anecdote.
  8. 235 75 r15 Stock wheels. See here : http://comancheclub.com/topic/35135-not-a-real-project-yet-assembling-ideas-right-now/ Prob picking up some 15" canyons this week w 30X9.50X15" TIRES. Better or worse? Truck is clean.
  9. What top end speed should I expect from my MJ? About 65 on a straight flat highway... sound reasonable? Driving these ATL highways, I'm getting blown away.... LOL :fs2: :MJ 2:
  10. Hit the "follow this topic" button on top right. To get back, click the down arrow near your log-in name on the very upper top right -- "content I follow" That's how I do it... :crossfingers:
  11. This guy has been recommended on the board and is eBay active. I think he sends visor fabric if you buy headliner material. http://www.smsheadliners.com/
  12. Ok thanks. Can't see the side view of this one but says it fits Cherokee (84-01). Any chance it works on my 88 MJ? Would be happy to pick this one up. Thanks again for the help! http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/pts/3350901939.html
  13. got pic?
  14. Automotive systems are 4 ohms (impedance). Home audio systems are 8 ohms. Would start with your Pioneer head unit. Don't need the scavenged tweeters. If the door panels are cut already and don't see water, then use that space first. The holes are probably cut to fit either 4" or 5.25" round speakers. Easily measured. You can find poly-coned speakers (instead of paper cones) for the doors if they may leak a little water. If you like the sound, you're set. :rock on: If you want more, you'll probably want to add a separate amplifier and larger pillar mount or 'behind the seat' speakers. You can add 6x9's in boxes like these... http://www.amazon.com/6x9-Truck-Style-Speaker-Enclosure/dp/B001DY6MC2 or go full out with speakers in the door and subwoofers behind the seat. http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-TS-SWX251-Subwoofer-Enclosure-Watts/dp/B004HW6F9M It's all about the money....ain't it always.... :D
  15. Any chance this is the UHAUL version that works on an MJ? Just checking..... Does it look familiar? http://atlanta.craig...3312675496.html
  16. Congrats to you! Continued good luck to her! That's how we view it around our household. Celebrating 28 years of marriage today. And I'm on the forum. I have issues.
  17. Car creeps up to the service bay. Can we help you? Yeah, I need to get my horn fixed. Okay, give me the keys and ill take a look. Drives car into the shop, hits the back wall, toolboxes and tools fly in all directions. MAN, DON'T YOU KNOW YOUR BRAKES DON'T WORK?????? Yessir, that's why I need my horn fixed.
  18. So my college roommate's folks owned a parts house in Mississippi. Heard some great stories. Guy walks in and says he needs some 'firing pins for a Goole' (say goolay). Clerk "firing pins?" Yessir, firing pins that go pow pow and make fire in there. Okay, you mean spark plugs. Yessir. We have those. What kind of car? A Goole. Goole huh? Who makes that? Pontiac.... Is the car here? Yessir, outside. And there it sat....a big brown Pontiac 6000LE....known forevermore as a Goole'
  19. You've been PM'd
  20. I'm going to replace the clutch/slaves in a 2.5L Renix. Fairly sure the flywheel has heat-spots, so need to resurface or replace. Prob a good idea anyway. I read there are no problems resurfacing the 2.5L flywheel. Please STOP me if I'm in error. Thanks!
  21. Thought I'd check to see if there are any available bucket seats in Georgia or neighboring state. Blue or Gray preferred. Maybe tan. Or if you have any leads / advice on best way to find them. Will hit a couple of yards this weekend, but not real hopeful.
  22. I need blue clips, but will take gray....or any color, really....at least for now... Sorry for tagging onto 'tubes' post. Hope I didn't violate any CC etiquette...
  23. Thank you sir! Downloaded both... :wrench:
