  1. Another one that's good but not popular is the PoweR-Loc. I may have the name wrong, but its a bit older, been around longer and is a beefier Trash-lock. http://www.ringpinion.com/PartsList.asp ... fferential Its 140$ @ Randy's R&P and it also is a good aggressive LSD. CW
  2. No not at all.. Open is open, your arse stuck in a ditch with one rear wheel spinning, wishing you spent the extra coin. :D  A Tru-Track is a good aggressive gear driven Limited slip differential. How aggressive.. I was on a run where a guy broke a shaft with one! Only you know if you can awing it, but the little more now will pay dividends the day your stuck. CW
  3. Charger plugs into the bottom, just like the photo in LW's post. Is that both ends of the USB cable? I just figured that was the power cable because that's where my charger plugs in. I had no idea it was a dual purpose port. Doesn't even mention that in the instructions. One end will plug into your phone using what ever jack/plug the manufacturer chose to use and the other will likely be a USB jack. Yes it most def is multi purpose!! If you where to use a wired head set it too would plug in the same plug! Try a search on Ebay for the cable, I was able to get them for past phones very cheaply. CW
  4. Its darkening up as it cures... Been working LOTS and havent seen it in daylight is a couple days... DEF a shade darker!! Thats not necessarillyt a bad thing!!! OH BTW, It is RUSTOLIUM, Painters Touch. It offred large selection of colors with the time tested Rustolium performance. My only complaint was the sprayer nozle SUX!! I had to continually clean them and be very consious of blowing them out between coats. HOPEFULLY< I can get the bed coated with Hurculiner before the Jeep Rally next month!! CW
  5. How do you charge the phone? Its very likely the same port!! ESP if its a mini USB, like on my Razor. Personally I don't use my cell for pics like that, Quality is no where near as good as even a cheap digi camera. BUT the couple times I have I also just Email them to my puter @ home. CW
  6. Its a good time for sure!! Bring the wife/GF and Kids, heck even the dog!! (Pick up your poop!!!) Go see my good buddie Lou Kiklas!! He is a vendor and a GREAT guy to deal with. If you need any jeep stuf. Lou's your man!! CW
  7. Your idea of correct is different from mine. The other possible way to make the adjustment is with the Napa camber adjusting kit. What is the deal with this kit? I did a search onnthe NAPA site zilch, nada, nuttin. There are many "Camber kits" avalible, but I cannot see anything for the solid jeep axle. Eagle is spot on with his explination of Castor/Camber. Here is a couple quick links with appropriate pics. I havent read the text, but the pics represent what has been described here. http://www.jeepfan.com/tech/CasterCamberToe.htm http://www.ozebiz.com.au/racetech/theory/align.html Hope this can clear this up for everyone. More important than who is correct or whom is not is finding and passing along CORRECT and ACCURATE information. CW
  8. Sorry for the tough luck... Wish you where closer... I have three sets of fact steering linkage, you could have taken one FREE to bro comanche nut! :D CW
  9. Get your self a large "PIPE" wrench. One that's big enough to fit your axle tube. than a small jack, I like a little bottle jack. Put the wrench on the axle tube and position the jack under the handle. as you jack up, the wrench will rotate the entire axle until the bolts lignup. Insert bolts repeat for opposite side and your done... Beats the tar out of ratchet straps!!!!!! :brows: :brows: :brows: CW
  10. SO, Do it fit or not? Your wording isn't so clear... Sounds like it does, only you haven't bolted it together yet. CW
  11. Try having BOTH front wheels off the ground, T-Case in 2WD and you should be able to turn driveshaft. If you cannot, your not in 2WD even though selector says you are. CW
  12. I have heard that and also don't think I would like it much either. BUT you have LOTS of HOGS!!! Lotsa fun hunting those!! CW
  13. Thats actually the one I was looking for!!! CW
  14. You will need the one piece axle and the appropriate seal. Then fation a block off plate for the CAD hole. BTW, you will need to gut the axle housing the properly install the seal as it goes from the inside out. http://gojeep.willyshotrod.com/HowtoD30AxlesSeals.htm CW
  15. OH yea... The shooting sports, Hunting and Jeeps are my three sanity's. I couldn't function with out them!!! We have to wait until the 15Th for early Archery up here in CT. CW
  16. I would think there would have to be a fill level hole. I mean you don't fill i to the top and call it good. Find remove that plug and fill from there. OR at the very least, leave it open as you fill from where ever is convenient. Once fluid comes from overfill hole, stop its full. Don't mean to over simplify. CW
  17. Many moons ago, I bought a Clifford Reasearch exhaust and a Offy 4bbl manifold for a 300-6 ford engine. I addd a 390 Holly and 3:89 gears to the 9" ford axle out back. Towed great but this was in a Van so driving performance was NILL!!! It made minor increases in Horse power, good increases in torque. It sounded REALLY good with turbo mufflers and was much TOO LOUD for the Cherry Bombs I had intended to put on it. BTW, here is another write I ran accross this AM. http://gojeep.willyshotrod.com/HowtoExhuast.htm CW
  18. I just ran accros this write-up while looking for MAP sensor info for you... http://gojeep.willyshotrod.com/HowtoD44RearAxleInstall.htm CW
  19. Maybe you mean MAP sensor ? Manifold Absolute Pressure. It is located on the firewall, center of engine. Wires on one side and vac hose to TB on other. Its basically a elevation control for the computer. http://gojeep.willyshotrod.com/HowtoMAPsensor.htm CW
  20. http://jeeprally.org/ I have been to this since the second one! They had a bit of a hiccup last year and had to postpone. But looks like its back this year!! Good prizes, events, Vendors, good food and some great Jeep people. OH Yea... LOTS of JEEPS!!! I'll be there, hopefully with BOTH my Jeeps!! You coming? CW
  21. Your dating your self man.. :D I'll buy a A beer for the first CC member who know who said that!! :brows: (You don't count Eagle!!) CW
  22. I have two ECTED units, one in a 8.8 and the other in a D44. I CANNOT in good faith recomend this unit. The 8.8 has proved EXCELLENT. I have had ZERO problems since its install, some five or so years back. The D44 in the MJ is on its THIRD unit. Customer service is beyond bad, frankly its is DEPLORABLE. With long waits, LIE's and extreamly poor comunication. The only thing they did not do was try to charge me for repairs. Right now, it is VERY slow to engage. Many times if the tires do not bias enough, it will not engage at all. One good point, the LS is a VERY aggressive unit, chirping tires if you get on the gass at all in a turn. So I do like it once its working, but the hi probibility of issues and dealing with the poor CS is to much for me to recomend them to anyone. If I did it over, I would go ARB all the way!!! Sensabule hose routing with a attention to detail WILL reduce many problems others have seen. I have installed one and helped with two others. CW
  23. I have a couple different setups. I have the B.T.F. on my 8.8 in the TJ. The freakin thing is bullet proof!!! I bought it assembled in the "white". Its the BEST, most durable, I have seen. Also, Crane is supposed to also be a good one, but persoanlly, I haven't seen one on any rigs I wheel with. Based on what I have read about them, I wouldnt be afraid to try one. I also have a couple difff "Football Fase Mask" guards. These have also proved to be very durable. Lastly I picked up a Currie "Rock Ring" used a year or so back. I havent had the MJ out in at least that long, so all I can tell you is there isnt a curb that will dent it. ;) (Or even reach it for that matter. :D ) CW
  24. Shouldn't that be XJ/MJ/TJ/ZJ? Just FYI... The TJ and ZJ are LO-Pinion D30's. YES they will still work, and bolt right it. But if your lifted the HI-Pinion offers a bit better angle, not to mention its also stronger. As for the rear, I recommend you bite the bullet and go for the Spiecer gear set. The are better quality and you can buy one with the identical offsets to what you have with the 3:07's. (Pull yous and note the numbers. Order the new ratio with these same numbers.)This can GREATLY shorten the setup time. As many times the same shim packs will prove to be spot on first time. At the very least, you will have better gears that will be closer to "on" with your existing shims. This equates to shorter/easier set-up. this is a HUGE thing for the shade tree mechanic!! Good Luck, CW CW
