  1. Mornin guys! I know this was posted and jumpinjim commented with his gate rebuild. But I cannot find the links that where posted. Can you guys help? Timmy is his name I think I also think it was on Pirate... Thanks guys, CW
  2. I use windows as well, May not be the best, but you already have it and it works well enough. I make a bunch of MP3 discs. I never have an orig disc in the truck... I just finished a MP3 Nickel back disc with every one of their albums on one disc! CW
  3. NICE FISH!!! With Largemouths 5lbs is my personal best too! Got a 6lb Small mouth once thou! Now stripers, those get a bit bigger. PB is about 45lbs. I cannot find the pic. This one is a mid 20# fish. (Its from back when I was a chub, to. ;) ) My buddie caught his PB that trip too, 51" est 60#. I have the fight on video, was right at sunset, caught on eels. Here ya go! I haven't been out for the bass yet, life getting in the way this year. But I will!!  CW
  4. Put the caster at the suggested settings and your pinion angles will be adequate. Don't put the cart before the horse here, stop over thinking this. Set your caster, off the ball joint as shown and you will be OK. CW
  5. I like 7-8 degrees caster on a lifted Jeep! Measure it at the ball joints... Then watch your DS angle and the position of the bumpstop in the spring and the swaw bar at the front of the spring. CW
  6. Just a quick update: This unit is even better tahn the one I had 20+ years ago in my Mustang!!! I havent had it on the trail as yet, but on the street its nearly invisable!! I should have done this from the start!!! CW
  7. Thanks for all the comments guys!! I use mine just like Pete, it stays charged and when in the car stays plugged in. I rarely use battery power. I have been cruising EBay and threw a bid at a couple units... well I got up this AM and found that I had won a 340S.... A little over 100 bucks for a new unit shipped. Hope I like it!! CW
  8. OZZY is the one that makes me laugh... Outta nowhere you hear, FARGIN' LEFT TURN AHEAD and At the end of the fargin' road, go left!!! Only he ain't sayin fargin'. :brows: CW
  9. We agree on one thing Pat.. I have a problem with people with two first names... LOL :brows:   I had some problems with my unit at one time, but I did it myself, I removed the memory chip with the unit running. I didn't know it was using the files on it... I was able to go online and repair it. Worst it does now Is once in a while will go back to the very first screen where you have to agree with the terms of use. then it takes about 5 Min's for it to boot up. But this is only when it has sat for a long period of time with no use and a dead dead dead battery! I like the unit, the different voices and ease of use. i used my friends magellan and hated it, also used another brand ?? I don't remember who but a computer voice was only option and it was VERY slow re directing if you went off coarse... I like the Tom tom. CW
  10. I have had a Tom Tom ONE XL for about 4-5 years and I like it. I am in the market for a new unit. Momma seems to have deleted some of my trails... I used to use a hand held magellan unit, but I sold it with part of a package.. (other story) Anyhow, I want my own.. First and foremost, I want to stay with Tom Tom. I want to stay under 150$ I was looking at a 130, then found that the 130S was better. Started thinking the larger screen of the 140S would be better. but every review I read goes right into recommending the 340... SO, Now I'm up to a 340S... Any one have this or another Tom Tom that you can shed some light on for me? CW
  11. As pointed out the length's are a guide, your numbers will likely vary. For aligning the bolts you need a tapered tool like the seal remover available from Sears Craftsman. then a Stillson wrench. Also called a Monkey wrench. Grab the axle tube and stick a bottle jack under the handle and lift. It will rotate the axle and allow for easy insertion of the bolts.. DO NOT SCREW THEM IN OR OUT!!!!! You will ruin them!! CW
  12. GREAT JOB!! I have had that floating around in my head for some time.... I once tried to bend up some to fit inside the factory flair to "reinforce" it... didn't work so well... They really look great, great idea!!!! CW
  13. Very nice and VERY clean, as mentioned, one of my favorite CC trucks...   GOOD JOB!! CW
  14. Both are fine, both do the same job, work just the same and nothing appreciable differences between them... accept cost. Lincoln is more costly so I voted Hobart. Now for the other questions. Buy a 220v unit if you will only have one welder. If you have a buzz box or the ability to use a big MiG a smaller 115V unit is OK. Even then buy the biggest 115V available. I have a Hobart 140, very nice machine. I haven't found a limitation in using it, but I don't even try to use it on steel thicker then 1/4". I use a Buzz box for that stuff. Good luck, CW
  15. Mine got new side view mirrors today... Old ones rusted off!!! the drain holes must have gotten plugged and the water got trapped inside and the tubes rusted thru and the mirror collapsed form the wind on the freeway... i am SO glad I spent the extra coin on the stainless steel mirrors... ONLY, 50$ from Advanced... :fs1: CW
  16. Its in and its WONDERFUL!!! viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1230&p=238715#p238715 CW
  17. AND I DO!! Its in and its WONDERFUL!! I should have done this from the start!! I have too much going on in the next couple weeks, so I had a good friend and a Jeep mechanic do the install for me. Got it up on the lift: Image Not Found Pulled the cover and drained off the fluid. Image Not FoundImage Not Found Then pull the axles and pop out the POS ECTED. Image Not FoundImage Not Found The gears look great and the seals and bearings are perfect so all are re-used. Image Not FoundImage Not Found Press on the old bearings on top of the shim packs and install the Detroit for setup. Image Not Found Got a great pattern first time and was VERY lucky with the shims. Everything looks great so on with the cover and fill with fresh fluid. Ready for the test drive. Out of the lot and down the road, nothing.. its smooth and invisible. Turning left and right still nothing. then up a grade and a 90degree right turn. Nice and slow and the inside wheel is squealing. Just as it should!! Taking a corner with a bit of go pedal results in the same tire howl, not at all in tune with the slow speed of the turn. Again exactly as it should be with a locker that's engaged. Both rear tire are turning at the same speed. Because its a turn one wheel must turn at a slower RPM because it turns a smaller arch. But with the locker, it cannot so it turns at the engine speed instead of the grounds and the result is that the wheel scrubs as its rotating slower then the ground that's traveling under it. I LOVE IT!!!
  18. Good show Kris!! I'm thinking it was air bound... SHOULD be self priming and shouldn't happen... but I think it did.... CW
  19. Just throwing this out there... Disturbed is spot on, "NEW" doesn't immediately remove all doubt to the functionality of a given part. I agree, it should, but sadly, it doesn't... My first thought was the ground, but you say that you can hear the pump prime. I didnt catch the year, but is the ceramic resister good? then I thought of the filter. You say new, did you check to see the fuel flows that far? CW
  20. HOW DID JEFFERSON KNOW? "It has been said the greatest volume of sheer brain power in one place occurred when Jefferson dined alone..." John Kennedy Especially read the last quote from 1802. When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe. Thomas Jefferson The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not. Thomas Jefferson It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world. Thomas Jefferson I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. Thomas Jefferson My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government. Thomas Jefferson No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. Thomas Jefferson The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government. Thomas Jefferson The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. Thomas Jefferson To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical. Thomas Jefferson Thomas Jefferson said in 1802: 'I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered...' 'If you don't read the newspaper you are uninformed, if you do read the newspaper you are misinformed.' -Mark Twain
  21. Well, I haven't figured anything out... BUT... with my desktop puter, I used to use Photoshop Elements. It was an extra step, but really nice to re size and crop as well as retouch images. I attempted to install it on this lap top but its not compatible with Vista.... :wall: So I did a little search and came up with a freeware program that allows for much of the same things as Elements. (Albeit no where near as in depth) It seems to work well enough. I deleted the images on PB. I logged out and shut down the link. I reopened and re logged in to PB. I uploaded the newly sized and renamed pic files. I entered them into my posts. Only when I opened those posts, the old pics where still visible!! I expected to see the PB disclaimer that the files where missing or unavailable. SO, I guess it was getting linked form somewhere else????? OH-WELL... I found a fix and its pretty easy. www.picturesizer.com CW
