  1. I've got a full cluster from a 90 if you're interested.
  2. So I got tired of my drivetrain attempting to launch itself out of my Jeep. I bought the motor mounts and replaced the driver's side, but the passenger side presents an interesting problem. How am I supposed to get the bolt to slide out of the mount if the stupid oil filter boss is in the way?! Evidently this is how it came from the factory because I ran into the same problem when I was pulling my "new" engine out of an XJ... Easiest way I can think of is to cut the friggin' bolt and put the new one in the opposite way... sound good? The other question is about the transmission mount. Where do you guys suggest getting a good poly replacement? Thanks
  3. I plan on going with a 242 sometime in the future. It was available in XJs as well as Dodge Durangos, Hummer H1s, and a few others iirc. The only "full-time" case worth getting as it is all gear-driven, no viscous couplings.
  4. So I've been wondering for a while, is the belt-driven radiator fan in my MJ supposed to be on all the time? Or is it only supposed to engage at a certian temperature. All my other cars have had dual electric fans, so I'm not familiar with clutch fans. I was under the impression that they dis-engage at times.
  5. Ah, so that first lift (3"F, 2"R) is simply an add-a leaf, and you can option the extra leaf "long" or "short"... am I right? http://www.hellcreeksuspensions.com/jeep.htm What I hear about aal kits is that they basically screw up how the existing springs are meant to work together... usually yielding a stiffer ride (and i'm assuming poorer flex??)
  6. So, they're not like an aal? Is there any advantage to either 3+1 or 4+1 other than payload? What about flex? (although for the lift I want I'm limited to the 4+1s...) And what is this "long rear leaves" option?
  7. What do they mean when they say 4+1?
  8. sweet, just what I was looking for
  9. Even if it is a loooong ways off, I'd like to start researching my options for a lift. I have a Rusty's 3"aal with a Chevy drop shackle at the 1" setting right now for an estimated 4" over stock... What are my options for the rear without going SOA? Right now I can only see myself doing 5-5.5" total lift. Re-arched springs? Where do I get them? How much? ect. I'm not totally rejecting doing a SOA, but I do want to know what my other options are. Thanks! Alan[/i]
  10. I wish I had AMC keys... mine have the friggin pentastar on them.
  11. I NEED to upgrade something in my brake system... I'm not even sure what, but it definately doesn't work like it should (kinda scary sometimes  )
  12. +1 on more pics
  13. I've been wondering if stiffeners would be a worthwhile investment... guess it really depends on what you plan on doing with it.
  14. My buddy mentioned something about measuring the pinion angle before we put the new perches on?? And yea, I was planning on making sure I got them the right distance apart.
  15. So I found a low-miles 8.25 out of a 2001 XJ. Just wanted to do a quick check and make sure I had everything down before I break out the welder. I'll need new spring perches on the correct side of the axle tube, and new U-bolts... let me know what I'm forgetting.
  16. Wow, why haven't I heard of these guys before? A bit expensive maybe, but looks to be worth it, thanks
  17. I'm still deciding if I'm going to go the full HO-swap or Renix-retrofit route. I have an HO sitting in my garage, but I can't decide wether to re-use my old manifolds and stick with the Renix, or pick up an HO wiring harness and swap entirely. Its interesting to hear everyone's opinions on this 8)
  18. How would these work... Trackbar: http://www.4wd.com/productdetails.aspx? ... artID=7096 LCAs: http://www.4wd.com/productdetails.aspx? ... artID=7095 I noticed that they didn't specificaly advertise that they were made to compensate for a lift, just that they're adjustable... :???:
  19. I was thinking of a Flowmaster 70 series (nice big case for sound, but plenty of flow) and a nice mandrel-bent 2.25" or 2.5" system from the manifold, and possibly a high-flow converter. With a cam and intake upgrade, I would think the slight step-up in flow would maintain good torque. By the way, those of you with turndown before the axle, do you get fumes building up under the cab when there's no wind?
  20. Man you learn something every day! I just wish it would quit adding to the "to buy" list. I've been running 4" with the stock UCAs, LCAs, and trackbar... what exactly is the problem... I got the thing with 3" on it so I don't really have much of a comparison.
  21. Wish I would have seen that high flow housing and pump before I replaced everything yesterday :wall: Oh well, guess I'll do it on my new motor.
  22. Man, I had an LT1 for awhile :wall: Add this to the list of things I should've grabbed before they junked it.
  23. Would it be a worthwhile investment? I hear that the renix ecu's are tempremental...
  24. The guy says its pn 74-5406 Anyone want to look that up? Can I use this with my AX15 even though is for an automatic transmission-equipped truck?
  25. that's a renix motor in those first pics right? Where did you grab those?
