  1. I don't see everything on here, but I'd like to think I'd remember THAT truck. I think everybody would remember that truck as clean as it is.
  2. Laredo's aren't rare, I have one! :D :clapping:  :chillin:
  3. That's why I said ignore the price, because for $14G's you could by a $1000 MJ and come out brand spankiing new. I'm talking first impression here. Mileage doesn't matter because I'm just saying it looks great. Super clean, fresh paint, clean interior, clean engine bay, little lift with some meat, Moabs, etc etc. Just nice to look at is all I'm saying. No offense to anyone here, but so many trucks that we see pics of are projects, and I love that, so it's nice to just see a super clean mall crawler every once in a while. Plus, notice I posted it at 2:17am, a little tired. But to your comment about why would he have to replace all those parts? Uhhh, because it's a 20yr old truck w/163k (not a lot really) and they are not lifetime parts so regardless of condition of the truck they would need to be replaced at some point. Anyhooo, it is rare IMO that you see pics of one that clean and straight and that's all my intention was with sharing, just to LOOK at. Not "is it worth it", not "yeah but what's it look like underneath", not "yeah but it's had all that work done to it", yada yada yada. Just simple, pure MJ adulation.
  4. Well, my bet is he probably found it in some old man's garage for cheap and now is looking to make a sizable profit on it. But since this post is going the direction of a discussion on price, I'll stop per my own instructions. And just look at it some more........
  5. you so crazy. hey, don't you think it's time to update your avatar? or do you like the "before and after" effect it gives?
  6. :agree: I does look good! I love the forklift and real world flex testing -> I never saw that shot before! That's awesome!
  7. Like the title says, let's all just ignore the price and save any comments about it. And even ignore the one minor flaw, the idiot lights. So now that I've gotten that out of the way, enjoy the views gentlemen......... http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?c ... dard=false
  8. MV, I've been waiting to see your truck sittin' on some meats, looks good! I've said it before and I'll say it again, you really like fork lifts don't you LOL? :brows:
  9. JB, that's a really nice shell you've got there. Do you have a frame to put it on LOL? :brows:
  10. Which one, the 26mm or 1" one? :clapping:
  11. Fixed it :jump: LOL, now it's not like I am ever trying to do that, and I take no pride in it, just to be clear. Funny how chat forums are opposite of sports. In sports the Defensive MVP (Most Valuable Player) shuts things down. Here, the Offensive MVP (Most Vulgar Person) is responsible for that! :clapping: Not a title I want to have :brows:
  12. As evidenced by the picture of your face in your avatar. Did I just go there? Yup, I think I did. Great :shake: , another awesome thread shut down by Cream of Meat :rotf: There's thread hi-jackers, and then there's THREAD STOPPERS!

  14. I'm not experienced enough to argue Andy's opinion on the u-bolts, but from what I've learned here it seems almost everyone says to get new u-bolts if those are the originals on there. considering it cost me all of $45 to have a set made up at a spring shop when i did my lift, it's not that much IMO. for all the money and effort your putting in to this build Simon, it seems counterproductive to cut corners on something like a $45 set of u-bolts. :dunno: anyhooo, how much lift do you need to "lose" when you go SOA? If you use XJ shackles that should drop you about 1" IIRC.
  15. Oh could I go some places with that name! That's hilarious. And my real name's translation? Howard Sperm. Awesome. :clapping:
  16. I just picked one up. I have diameters of 25.84 - 26.18mm at various locations. The guy at Napa, using his caliper, confirmed the 26mm. I am ordering the 26mm Moog bushings, so I will let you know how it works out. Anyone else get a different measurement? So I should be making sure they are over 1" in diameter.. OK cool , thanks... noooooo, 26mm! pay attention son! :fool:  26mm=1.0236" :hmm: :fool:  I was teasing because you converted from metric to english, i.e. as if they were not the same measurment. Soooo..... :fool: and :fool:
  17. Unless the u-bolts are new from your 1st lift, don't re-use them. I'm not sure of the tube sizes between what's under your truck now and the replacement, but you'll need to check that too even if your current u-bolts are new.

  19. yeah, that's what i was pointing out above and as $500 said, the truck has an identitiy crisis with styling and parts cues from both 86 and 87. $500, i believe the 4x4 tags went on the rear in 86 also, and possibly IIRC they went back there if the truck did not have trim level badges i.e. "laredo" etc.; if the truck did have trim level badges under the "comanche" badge, the 4x4 went on the cab pillar. at least that's what i've consistently seen in pictures. 50/50 that i'm right or wrong on that though LOL.
  20. They're cust service is closed on weekends so was looking for a quick answer last night. Thanks for the info fellas, getting ready to call and order now and will confirm any issues.
  21. Bueller? Bueller? Anyone?
  22. ahhh, yes, i remember that one on the back of a parts truck you had in the weeds out by the barn, correct?
  23. the factory switch left of the column is for your cargo light. other switch is an add on obviously, so not sure. yes, it's a laredo by the seats and the full center console. the "xls" on the other side is from an '86, so that's kinda weird and a add-on by the PO. i'm 99% sure it's an 87 and not 86 because in 86 they didn't have a maroon interior IIRC, it was fairly bright red.
  24. how do they look flipped around? even still, i agree they don't work for me and such a "square" vehicle. Maybe weld them together and mount vertically in the roof.............shark fin!
