Well i move to Kansas City on Monday and start college Tuesday. Been slowly over the summer working on my precious MJ putting it back to gather and making sure everything is in working order for the City life. The last thing that got done to it was fix the little flapper that makes it blow hot air into the cab, and since the thermostat got fixed she blows 135 degree air into the cab  Not sure how much time i will have to get on here after Monday, but just wanted to say thanks to everybody who has helped me out and answered my questions especially after my wreck (even though some were dumb), thanks a bunch guys!

sorry for the crappy pictures, took with my phone. Image Not Found this was at a natural spring by my neighbors pond. Image Not Found i bounced into some ruts that a 1/2ton chevy with 44" tires made and got stuck in. :D Image Not Found couldn't open my door there. they let us mud here, so we won't go else were and tear other ppls stuff up.

 when i wrecked my mj i hit another truck and pushed him into the car in front of him, my insurance paid for both cars, thats how it is here in Missouri

Where the heck is the radiator cap
Lenard replied to 88pioneer's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
why? Because it is under pressure and the result will be just like taking the radiator cap off a conventional radiator when it's hot -- the boiling liquid will spew out in all directions and you'll very likely end up with some serious scalding at least on your hands, and possibly on your face and upper body. But don't take my word for it ... go ahead and try it. i knew that. i thought maybe it had something to do with it being closed system and didn't want air into it. -

Been there. It's pretty easy to break if the thermostat isn't fully seated in that recess. It falls out pretty easy if you attempt to put the thermostat housing back on without removing the belt. Willy so you suggest that i take the belt off first? just incase?

Thanks, it is a ZJ, and the driver aint a guy, its girl, and good looking to 8)

it might of been a grand, but i 'm not sure, it had the 5.2L V8 emblem on the back, and it looked stock. it also sounded like a bigger motor than a 4.0 but you never know either.
-
i seen a cherokee laredo mid 90's in town that as the 5.2 in it, never seen this before and never heard any one on here talk about having one or even putting one in. Just curious, is the 318 not a good motor for the MJ?
-
Because most aftermarket ones are junk. :agree:
-
thats what i had to do was unhook it from the tranny, mine was also only handtight.
-
thats it, thanks guys!

ok thanks! that will help, i got to do some front end work here in the next day or so, so i will look then :D If you are working on the front axle, none of those will help you. The front is a Dana 30 (D30). The pictures supplied only apply to the rear axle--which would be either a D35 or a D44 unless it's been swapped previously for something else. no, just re placing my tie rod and some other small stuff, i went a head and looked, my rear one is a 35, but the front axle diff cover looks like the 44 from the picture? is the D30 and D44 covers the same?

how can i tell what axle i have? i assume i have 35's but i don't know? :dunno:

yeah it shifts fine into all the gears. I wouldn't worry about any problems then. There is a writeup around here somewhere that allows you to hook a toggle switch up for 2nd gear when the shifter is in 1-2. ok cool, i ain't real smart on this computer, could anyone find that write up for me?

ok got the AW-4, and i can only get my shifter to go to the 2nd gear position (think my linkage is messed up) but anyway when it is in the 2nd gear position it starts out in 1st and will not shift to 2nd until 1st gear has reached its limit don't matter if I'm smashing it or just slowly accelerating, and when i let off to slow down it will down shift to 1st at 1st highest limit. it won't do this if it is in 3rd or OD, why? :hmm:

got the jeep put all back togather last week then took it to the shop to see about replacing the fuel pump, but found out that it was only knocked loose, so he just put her back on. Man it feels GOOD to have that MJ all in one piece and running again

ok thanks, we removed the system but still nothing, maybe we missed a wire or something. also the balister (sp?) is not getting or sending ( one of the 2) the proper voltage. :hmm: i had it towed to town today see what the mechanic can find
