Valve cover "misted" with oil
Lenard replied to AutoMoto's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
could be the oil cap on top of your valve cover, i have yet to see a oil cap on these trucks that doesn't let oil run all over the place. -

ok thanks correy, I'm taking it to the mechanic Friday, i don't know if he has one or not, i'm sure he would, but he has to fix my oil leak anyway,(for free) my front main seal did not seal so its still leaking :fs1: if i remember right they should all be around 120ish p.s.i.? -
i went out and checked my oil yesterday (truck had been sitting for 2hrs+) and at the bottom 1/4" of the dip stick it was milky. i just had the bottom half of the engine done and so there is no way that i know of, of any of that making water get in the engine, so I'm thinking it was leaking before but since it was draining so much oil i never notice, or maybe it just decided to crack :dunno: what is the easy way to check without pulling the head?

Don't bite thy tongue! That is the problem we have in this USA! Too many do that, and say nothing to those we elected nor vote at the booth, saying "what good will it do" and them complaining about the outcome because they bit their tongue! Obama is too young in inexperience, and by this too much under the influence of those who adopted in the 1960's and 70's the socialist mantra of that generation, to lead this country. He is in over his head. I wonder, in a large part is he being used? After enduring 8 years of a ventriloquist puppet we finally get somebody with intelligence and you think he is being used? :rotfl2: Willy i gota ask, who was running the "puppet"?

question on axles and gears......again
Lenard replied to Lenard's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
if i don't get the disc brake axle, what size are the drum's on the 8.8? the wheels i have are off of a Wrangler, i have no idea what year, does anybody know if these type of rims have enough backspacing? :ack: -
thats a bummer, oh well, you had fun though right? :D

ok i got a Dana 35 with 3.55 gears that's about to blow up on me, if possible i wanna put in a D44, but if not the Ford 8.8 are plentiful around the JY here in Kansas City. but when i do get a new rear-end i want to go to 4.10 gearing, so my questions are, 1. What are the chance's of finding a 8.8 with 4.10? 2. Would it be cheaper to get the rear-end, and then re-gear my front axle? 3. Or get both axles and re-do all the steering/whatever up front? 4. Would it be smarter/stronger/better to get the front ford axle under my mj? 5. Other than the spring perches, what other modification would i have to do to fit a 8.8 under my truck? Sorry guys, i'm sure these question have been answered before, but my skills on using the search on here suck.

just barley missed putting the back of semi tanker truck imprint on the side of my mj. my truck will go from doing 20mph forward to a complete stop to reverse spinning the tires almost 30mph in like 4 seconds. i was not a happy camper this morning. :fs1:

um yeah...thats a little high in my book. but i do love the interior color

I see that it has a CCV Correct. And the CCV system is a pair of open tubes. "PCV" typically implies a PCV valve -- which you won't find on a Jeep 4.0L engine. (I'm not convinced that was a good design decision, but it is what it is.) :hijack: that same hose on my 4.0 is blowing oil out, so i just need to re-place the CCV?
-
I honestly don't know  that house is over 100 years old and that part was added on, it's been updated the last couple years, looks modern now :D
