  4. not sure yet == still in the figuring stage -- most likely go to a cherry bomb style -- and route out the side ahead of the tank
  5. has anyone installed a second tank on the passenger side of our long bed trucks? == have access to a 23 gal from another long bed and thought about installing it.
  6. here is one source :http://www.teamcherokee.com/Weatherstrip/index.html I may have others --- will keep looking
  7. congrats man -- we will hit 36 this yr
  8. nope not from up here -- I've harrassed every jeep/chrysler/dodge dealer from frisco to portland w/o finding any NOS parts
  9. thanks guys -- they were a gift from my son, who had received from a friend. son got permission to regift them to me after his truck burned up last year.. don't think I'll install em for everyday use -- maybe put em on for car/trk shows after she's renewed.

  13. Congrats btm24 -- welcome to the frat to end all frats. :jump: received mine in 1970 and our son received his in 1999. spent time on the eagle board of review at the council level. had to stand down for his. don't forget to list it on job apps and resumes (when the time comes), big ticket colleges love stuff like that. look into NESA (national eagle scout assoc) :jump: :jump: :jump:
  14. thanks Pete
  15. here's some pics of the set up sorry attempted to insert pics -- not sure why they would not go
  16. I use the pre-filter cover on mine as we run in the desert quite abit
  17. it clamped into place w/o any alteration other than a small slit in the filter end so it clamped down very tight. as to year, I do not remember any difference in the various units when I went to the scrap yard to get it I've been running this system for about 5 yrs now, I do like the idea of using the alum tube or pvc the others have suggested, as it would be more stable --
  18. I used the flex intake tube from a ford taurus, it had the two small intake ports on it
  19. we've kept a full size under ours since we bought her in 98
  20. been running 235"s on mine since I bought it in '98
  21. absolutely correct eagle -- unfortunately we all lose, as they will most likely close the area to racing and we have darned few left out here. sometime even if there are barricades, spectators get injured -- was heavy into drag racing as a late teen/early 20 something and witnessed a fellow get killed at the irvine raceway when an axle failed and sent the tire into the crowd.
  22. dibs --- that would look too cool on the front of my tractor
  23. probably 5 or 6 in my area -- everyone knows I get first dibs if they go to sell or scrap
  24. Dang, I thought I was the only one! the wife tells ya to shut up when ya yell "parts on the hoof" each time an xj rolls past or you and the wife fly 700 miles to visit the kids and grandkids and ya go the local pick a part to shop -- and take your son alone to help carry/hunt -- course he has one too
