  1. Swore at it. A lot. Edit: It paid off. After struggling with the dizzy retaining bolt, I was able to prime the pump with my drill up to 50 psi, and drive it to where it's supposed to be.
  2. It's $300 for the whole truck, not just the 30. The tooth counts are stamped on the ring gear, and some ratios had the same number of teeth on the ring. 4.10 has 41/10. 3.73 has 41/11
  3. Where are you located? I'm sure someone nearby has D35 axleshafts sitting around... no need to go to a parts store for something like that.
  4. Yes, it will bolt directly on, but you need all the brake stuff with it. It will be a low pinion axle, however. As far as I know, however, no ZJ came with 3.07 gearing. I may be wrong though.
  5. Definitely change the filter first, see if that does any good. You said you did a fuel pressure check and it was fine... what was the actual reading? Have you done any more checks?
  6. I'm thinking your fuel pump is crap.
  7. How'd you manage that kind of carnage?
  8. Yikes! You alright?
  9. Pulled the lock cylinder out of a 92 column I had to throw in the 2.5... jumped it, after a few minutes of cranking she fired up. Let it idle for about 45 seconds, sounded rough, and read 0 oil pressure on the gauge. :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall:
  10. The head is supposed to be a better flowing design, however, the intake ports won't line up correctly with a Renix manifold, and an 00 should have the 0331 head that has a reputation for cracking. The 00 head also would not have the hole in the back drilled for the temp gauge sensor. Unless there's something wrong with the 88's head, I'd leave it.
  11. Dump it at my place and take the front axle home. :brows:
  12. I'm having trouble understanding what you mean. All XJ/MJ CAD Dana 30s were High Pinion.
  13. If the CAD is locked or engaged, then yes, the pinion should turn just over 2 times for the rotor turning once if it's 4.10.
  14. OP is right, the IAC is on the left, TPS is what he's pointing to. Yes, the elbow in the VC is supposed to be connected to that hose. However, I wouldn't even think of blaming anything on the TPS until you put an exhaust on it. How much of an exhaust do you have? Please tell me you at least have a manifold.
  15. Ran me a dime under 300 smackers.
  16. Got some parts for the 2.5 :D Now I just need a key so I can start workin on it.
  17. Prices that high for such a relatively simple part should be illegal. Now, if it came with brand new injectors, regulator, lines and pump...
  18. When it comes to that stuff, yeah, XJ parts are identical. (I believe) there are no difference in the rails 91-96.
  19. Pretty sure it'd be waaay too short.
  20. I suppose active topics might be beneficial to those who don't log in 47 times a day, but I don't understand why it's such a big deal.
  21. If you do look for a D30, keep in mind the ZJ, TJ, and 00-01 XJs have the less desirable Low Pinion D30.
  22. Last week I started ordering parts to get the 2.5 up and running again, hopefully they'll start coming in today.
  23. Am I the only person who doesn't use Active topics?
  24. With #1 at TDC, the rotor should be pointing slightly past he #1 post on the cap. When you replaced the cam sensor, did you replace the sensor, or the whole dizzy? Was the dizzy ever removed?
