  1. Holy crap, I'll actually probably be in WI at that time... might be able to go.
  2. Put something on the keyboard that holds down F5
  3. :fs2: Not with that attitude it won't!
  4. That's weird. I'd be interested to see the inside of that thing.
  5. Some people need to stop logging out.
  6. Let's not forget who started this whole thing! :rotf:
  7. Exactly why I recommend it. First time I did it, I also did not drop the tank. Spent probably 3 hours trying to get it to seat right, just to have to go an entire winter without being able to fill up past 3/4. Next spring I dropped the tank, reset the sender, and hand the tank in, in less than half the time it took me the first time.
  8. It can be done with the tank in the truck, but I highly recommend dropping the tank, and setting it on the tailgate to do this. It ensures you get it to seal properly during re-install, and should be harder to destroy the lock ring when you're able to, you know, see what you're doing. Also gives you a chance to check for sediment in the tank, change the 22 year old hose clamps on the fill neck, and inspect the vapor roll over valves. Popping one of those will also help you line up the return line rubber stopper when you're re-installing the sender.
  9. You can't. If it doesn't pop back up to the top, nobody may see that you even replied. It's supposed to do that. "bumping" is when you reply for the sole purpose of putting it back to the top, without actually contributing.
  10. You need to take a look under the front and see if it even has a CAD. Seriously, even if it has a CAD, and the actuator is fubar, just lock it over and forget it's there.
  11. Just got Netflix on the 360, so I'll probably be lounging most of the day..
  12. Not entirely true. I used to think the same about 91, but my Dad's 91 XJ had a factory CAD system. Also, the 92 model year DID come 2wd, and it's entirely possible a CAD 4wd system was used to convert it.
  13. Your transmission is either a Puegoet BA 10/5, or an Aisin Warner AX-15. 89 was the transition year for the 5 speeds behind the 4.0. Given that you said it needs a new trans, I'm inclined to think you have the Pukey. What's wrong with the trans? Rear axle is most likely a Dana 35. Sitting on 33s, there's no surprise it blew up on you. Pictures of the axle and transmission would help a great deal.
  14. i think you have to move around the sight like every 5 or so min. but :dunno: that is a good ? Brandon Nope, as long as you're logged in, and leave the tab/window open, pretty sure you stay as logged in.
  15. 92 shouldn't have a CAD... unless it was a replacement axle, or it used to be 2wd. Just lock the CAD. viewtopic.php?f=9&t=18415
  16. XJs (regular sized Cherokees) used the same transmissions and rear axles. Transmissions will bolt in, but the rear axle will need new spring perches welded on. Only direct bolt-in rear axle if from another MJ. What year/motor/trans do you have?
  17. Get a different column, disassemble them together, and see what's different. Then, when you see nothing wrong, toss old column, and install new one!
  18. The 79 bushing that kept popping up needed to be drilled. 74 has the correct OD and ID. Rockauto.com has the 74 CJ 304 bushing for about $5 and the roller bearing for under $3.
  19. The AX-15 crossmember is dipped down in the middle about an inch compared to the other one. Sorry for the crappy pics, I'd take some better ones personally if I could, but this is the best Google has to offer. AX-4/5, Pukey, AW-4, TF whatever AX-15
