allow me, an olympic edition was a white or black (more rare) comanche, cherokee or YJ wrangler with a large gold stripe along the body line(comanche/cherokee only) and olympic rings above the comanche badge. They were only made in 1988 to commemorate the 88 olympics. usualy the olympic package had alloy wheels too. it was available in 2wd or 4wd 6 or 4 cyl lwb or swb. The olympic's make it easy to identify it as an 88. mine is an olympic.

mine is a little odd i used to live in pompano beach and my favorite thing to do was drive up the beach on saturday mornings or when i was stressed out. the road was a1a. at the time i had my YJ and being in florida... pretty much never had the roof and doors on it (save for bikini top and duster). so when driving i loved the salty wind blast you got. Hence a1awind. its also a combo of two Jimmy Buffett albums. ( i'm a parrot head). i know the explaination isn' t very macho but the s/n has sentimental value!

on this note. is it a possibility to swap in a 318ci and a tourqueflight auto into a manche that is a 2.5 ? reason i ask, my brother in law is swaping his 318 for a 360. The motor is good he just wants a bigger bore to start building on. so we thought, it might be a good swap. it is out of a 78 charger.

ok a local garage has a 2 door 93 XJ with a blown motor. my brother in law is buing the engine out of a totaled cordoba so i inquired about it. he told me 200 for the front axle and driveshaft. 300 for the ax5 tranny and and transfer case....what do you think? also who was looking for 2 dr cherokee doors? these are a lil rusty but very fixable.
