the story i heard was, Shortly after the surplus jeeps were sold off, scam artist would appear (mostly near shipping depots) and spread word that the jeeps would be sold at the depot on this day (for $50- $75 depending on who is telling it) the scam artisit would have crates stacked up and a helper planted in the crowd. while running his game the helper would act as a heckler. the helper would yell "how do we know there are jeeps in those crates?" and the scammer would invite the helper to pick a crate to be opened. Of course the helper would pick the one and only crate with a jeep in it. the rest of the people would then be sold a crate of scrap metal for their hard earned cash.

one of the guys at shultz ford told me that if you chip or do anykind of reprogramming to the 6.4ltr powerstroke (the new one) it goes into failsafe mode.

must be the gearing. or the trucks have mpg inconsistancy (sp) like power stroke diesels. i bought the truck with 44k on it so i have no idea what was done to it.

stock tire size 235-75 r15 i believe. mind you that my ENTIRE commute is highway save for approx 2 miles from my house to the turnpike where I run at a constant speed of 65 mph. This equals about 2600rpm. I don't understand how you folks see this as unheard of? one of the guys at my church has a 1996 ranger longbed 2wd 4cyl and he does about the same. my truck is a 1998 regular cab 2.2 4cyl with 5speed. I have a tonneu on the bed too. I may have some very tall rear end gears because it has no no nuts around town (not really any on the highway either) and you have to jack the gas to backup even a slight hill.

yeah. I'm not gonna question it but i get 480 miles out of 15 gallons it only happens in the summer. i get about 23mpg in the winter so tires seem to have a big bering on mpg, because it drops as soon as the snow tires go on. maybe you had a shorter rear end .

if dodge can do a sterling variant on the ram what would be wrong with a new j10, j20 and even dare i say a j30? dump the dakota and build a new mj. ok now, back to reality. jeep figures that its numbers are in the wrangler and various hummer fighters. A lot of people don't even know that jeep made a pickup. ....kind of a bummer.

ok guys how do you feel about the 09 ram and f150 ? I was a bit disapointed with the f150 ...i figured it would be available with more power and the lack of standard tranny in either truck is very dissapointing. I am interested in seeing however, how the rams coils hold up compared with leaf.

if the ac is low on gas and has been converted to r-134 you can get a recharge kit at any auto parts store for about $20

yeah gotta love the 4.0's power for days. i got the s10 as 2wd 4cyl because i have a 47mile round trip commute. at 32mpg. and $3.22 per gal. I can deal with the lack of power...
