bigshrimpin Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Just finished towing my boat 3466 miles Cross Country!! . . . CA to MA. The truck handled like a champ!! Under 4 days at 55 - 60mph.
jtdesigns Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Nice,,, both truck and boat.. I would love to take a road trip across the USA,, but I wouldn't want to tow anything doing it,,unless of course it was a camper..
DansGreyMj Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 I'm driving from tn to ca in about 2 months, how much does that boat weigh? and what kind of mileage did you get?

tkgibbs27 Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 nice boat, and a good looking truck. i don't get to drive my mj but i get to drive a penske moving vehicle from washington to cape cod or fort myers this summer.
Mitch Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 you should have staying in CA, cause MA is going to destroy both of those! As well as you and your family and your wallets and everything you once new was good. I used to hate CA until I moved to MA.... lol
carnuck Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 I took my 4 cyl '86 MJ (when it was freshly converted to 4x4 an hour before we left) with a 6500lb GVW to Ouray, Colorado in '02. 3 spare tires (glad I had them as we were hit by a delivery truck and wore through left front tires every 300 miles)
bigshrimpin Posted April 13, 2008 Author Posted April 13, 2008 I'm driving from tn to ca in about 2 months, how much does that boat weigh? and what kind of mileage did you get? Mileage was 12 - 14 depending on hills. Boat, motor, and trailer weigh just over 3500lbs.
bigshrimpin Posted April 13, 2008 Author Posted April 13, 2008 Mitch - I think the truck will go with me to Florida in the Winter, so I can avoid the snow/salt in MA. No more wife . . . so I can do whatever I want now :)
