TNT Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Since you can get a Mopar 2.5 in a Dakota and they share a bellhousing wit a RWD Jeep. I have built a 2.2 with a turbo that was putting out 350hp. It would make a great street toy or a nice prerunner. 25 pounds of boost and it would be over 400hp if not 450... It could be fun.
JeepcoMJ Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 ...I have a mpfi xj sitting at home, just waiting for forged pistons, racing cam, .30 over bore, and a nice lil turbo...
Geonovast Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 And that trans would explode in about 4.3 seconds..
TNT Posted April 4, 2008 Author Posted April 4, 2008 also, a newer 2.4 turbo motor would swap in and uses a much stronger trans in the rwd trim. Otherwise I could wire a bunch of different 4cylinders to run on a early 90's pcm and harness. theres a lot of engine choices. 350hp and 25 mpg sounds pretty good to me. :brows:
TNT Posted April 5, 2008 Author Posted April 5, 2008 A late 80's early 90's Supra with a stick would make a sick street MJ or prerunner.
Twisty Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Could you get an AW4 with a 2.5 bell housing to work?

brigarpeon Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Could you get an AW4 with a 2.5 bell housing to work? Sure can With a Dakota Bellhousing you could put an AX15 behind it.

If I had the time and money I'd have a mid 80's shelby charger or a GLHS with that motor. but the idea of putting one in an mj would be a sweet sleeper.
TNT Posted April 5, 2008 Author Posted April 5, 2008 To work on the toy's motor?? A Toyota's Supra auto is a version of a AW-4. If you had the cash a 750hp pump gas Supra engine would get the job done.
