Ben-88Comanche
So ive seen lots of pictures of manches and cherokees with these, and definently want one for mine. I think the only one i found online was frmo JCwhitney or something and was around $200... kinda steep. Wondering if these things would show up in junkyards? ANyone know how to get one? if you don't know what I'm talking about, its the thing arrows are pointing to in this picture Image Not Found
onebigmj
They are usually called visors. If your looking for one in a junkyard on from any xj from 84-01 will work or look for one on an mj. Look on ebay. I've seen them go for $10.

mvusse
I think they are a thing of the past. Both R&S Truck Caps and Ohio Light Truck Parts (both local to me) used to have them. Neither shows them in their catalog or site searches anymore. My buddy used to have one on his truck. I borrowed it once and hated it, I had to bend down to be able to see the traffic lights underneath it. Then again, I'm 6'5"
Jeepinmanch
I have seen where you can get these! The 80's. Or in the same shop the gangbangers get those rediculous oversized rims. I personally think they look ugly and would never drill into my Jeep to put one on!
beaterjeep
Oh come on guys, they're not that bad. I love having mine, it keeps the sun out of my eyes when the inboard visors are too short. I'm not too sure what company makes the one I have, as it was a "Wisconsin deal". I'll go check it out later on though, I need an excuse to get out in this warm 30 degree weather.
Ben-88Comanche
hmm thanks for all the responses I think it enhances how the truck looks, but if a lot of drilling is involved ill pass haha

HOrnbrod
8 holes to install. the one beaterjeep has is Lund I believe. Correct, eight holes. Mine's a Lund, and got it new on Ebay years ago for $30 shipped. AFAIR, the MJs and XJs carried different part numbers, why I have no idea. mvusse
I think the roofs might be shaped different, There's a thread somewhere about grafting an mj cab back onto a cut xj that shows the difference.

Must be. But they take the same windshields, you would ASSuME the immediate area around the windshield would be the same. But I know, NEVER ASSuME. :D
Pete M
MJs have a slightly taller roof. I've got no idea if it is enough difference to mean that an XJ unit can or can't be adapted to an MJ.

Yes Pete, as 99% of us know, there is a difference in the rooflines. I have reason to believe the one I have from Jeepco is off of an XJ, as it has a slight downward slope to it, as can be seen in the pics; whereas hornbrod's looks more straight out off of the roofline. I bought my Lund new in the box from a vendor who went belly-up, and it had the MJ part number. I don't know if there were other vendors, but if there were, they are probably long gone by now. You can see here that the MJs and XJs had different part numbers: http://auto-trim.com/moonvisors.shtml
