watchamakalit
the address says you've uploaded them to tapatalk. I think that might be the issue. I doubt that. Tapatalk never has problems. LolYeah that could be it. Pete M
do make sure that you're uploading them to CC. the quality will be better and then we won't lose anything if tapa tanks.
watchamakalit
Redo on the pics uploaded straight from my pc after transfer off the phone. Seems like an issue with tapatalk. Go figure.....
watchamakalit
Looks like I need to shop for control arms. My lower wj arms are contacting the shock mount. I am assuming the caster for the front axle is off.
Pete M
the caster is adjustable via the sliding bolt bracket at the back of the lower control arms. add more shims to push it forward. though not every truck has enough space to give to accommodate a lift. watchamakalit
The new core 4x4 tier 1 control arms are in and adjusted. 7.5 degrees of caster put my driveline in beautiful shape, drives great and rides better. Plus I gained a little ride height in the front, due to the lca's no longer hitting the shock mounts.

watchamakalit
Another successful day at the salvage yard. She got new seat covers and door panels. I love these panels. They are my favorite. Here are some shots with the old driver seat still in. I am waiting on the other cover to dry after laundering. Also picked up some cruise parts I was needing. All I need to finish that is a lower Speedo cable. Oh and I snatched a roof rack from an 88xj with the sliding tie downs........

Catches mud 👍 I don't know where I got those mats. I have had them for years, for some reason I never sold them with the truck they were in. I love them and they fit the mj well. On a side note not much to update. Painted the hard topper satin black not sure I like the satin look might respray it in a flat. Still looks way better than before. Sorry I didn't snap any pics yet, the mj needs a bath first. lol
Pete M
I have those same mats too. they now reside in the Durango.
watchamakalit
About 2 weeks ago the chain went out in the transfer case. I picked up a 231 from a 96xj at the local yard. Might go back and grab the aw4 too. Havent decided yet. Had to swap tailhousings from my 94 tcase to the 96 to make it work. However now I have a quiet and fully functional case. It is leaking a little at the tailhousing joint but that is my silicone job. I stuck my finger in it during install but hoped for the best. Today I am going to take care of the leaking tcase. Next on the list is to fix the loose trackbar. The hole for the lower mount is oblonged and I need to decide on a proper permanent fix. Tired of the slop in the front end. I almost forgot. I scored a free steering wheel. Id thank him here but Ron seems to be fairly computer illiterate from what he tells me. Look at my leather wrap...... watchamakalit
Well she is back on stands waiting on parts. Pulled the tailhousing to reseal a leak and discovered a broken snap ring. I must have stressed it when I tore it down. I have a new snap ring on the way. Guess I'll take time to fix a trackbar and oil pan gasket while its down. watchamakalit
Well my spare is back in. I lost a turbine and brand new tire some time ago. The factory bracket under the spare folded in half and I never heard or felt it go. So I made a new bracket, don't worry the knot and nut are temporary till I run to town. Also on the list was a tool to kae lowering and raising the spare simpler. And after the last instance no chances taken. It now gets a dedicated ratchet strap backup. I'm not loosing another turbine. Now to dig into the trackbar.......
watchamakalit
Plugs, wires, cap and rotor today. Truck has 174,655 mi. on it. Last tune up was aroung 155,000ish. It was due. Old cap looks pretty bad and rotor the same. I think the plugs looked decent. I replaced the ac delcos with ngk plugs.

watchamakalit
Today was a fairly productive day. I got the rms changed and a new pan gasket installed. Old one was leaking. May have been pan gasket but judging by the condition of the old they both needed changed. The pan was pretty sledged up. Took a while to clean that up. New rms. Sorry didnt get a pic of the upper half installed. Gave the oil pan a coat of paint. After all that I dug into a mysterious growl from the rear d44. Pulled the rear shafts expecting to see a trashed wheel bearing since I recently changed them. Fortunately they are fine. Unfortunately it seems the carrier bearings are shot. Time for a rebuild. Maybe a limited slip?
