Comanche Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Has anyone made a custom brush guard/grill guard? My idea is to make one out of square tubeing and sheet steel with steel mesh or wire over the headlights. THIS IS NOT MY XJ Yellow- square tubing frame Green- The parts that connect to the under carrage Blue- my driving lights teal- the head light guards Image Not Found What do you think? :chillin:
Geonovast Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 I'd put more reinforcement in front of the grill. But if you can make your own, that'd be great...hell of a lot cheaper than finding one. I've seen those things go for a lot of money.
Rokhound Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 You mean something like this it not 100% home made but real close to what you want to do. You can find these in the junk yard. There not real strong but then again when you have a tree pined in between the light guard and the fender and you nail the gas in reveres what do you think is going to happen.
89eliminator Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 here is mine. i got it for free. i chopped off the lower bar and put a winch in mine.
89eliminator Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 i got it from a friend of ours. it was on his cherokee that was sitting in his field. he didn't want it so i took it. it was pretty rusty, but i sandblasted it and repainted it.
MiNi Beast Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 quadratrac had something like you want from Tomken. ????!/maybe
