Console Screw Attachment Question

Recommended Posts

I got my new 1/2 Console from JeepcoMJ this past week and had a chance to install it over the weekend... below are the before and after shots...

Anyhow to the question... any ideas for helping to secure the thing on the right hand side where the screw hole clip thing has busted off inside the console? I used a washer and it "seemed" tight but the first time I shifted down to Reverse, the whole right hand side of the console shifted and now "floats" around when I shift...

Anyhow I think it looks better.... thanks Pat!

Not to hijack but where is the other screw? I am trying to get mine off to replace it, by the way my screw bracket is also broke and it moves around guess it is a common issue.

One is over under the TCase Bezel on the left... just pop the bezel thing up and you should see it.

Dude did you ask a question when first posted this?? I must have completely overlooked it!! My bad, but is there any way you could fashion some Velcro on the bottom to keep it still?

Yeah, I dazzled with the photo's and snuck in a question...

I'm gonna look at it more tonight when I get the kids to bed... might be able to fashion up some kind of internal bracket or something... Nothing a little Duct Tape couldn't take care of I'm sure...

there should be two other screws maybe. one on the pass side under the shifter against the right side on the inside. The other is from the direction of the firewall I think coming right back at the t-case shifter. ALOT of the consoles break when removed because people don't' find the one on the right. there are some good pics on here which show the bracket which goes from the internal boot attachment and is shaped like a very flat v running front to back on the right side. The console screws in to that on that side. The other screws go into locations on the t-case shifter bracket.

SW, I can make a small alluminum bracket for it real quick and send it out...that's not hard. I've done it on quite a few of these now, and just use a short sheetmetal screw to buzz it into the inside of the console where it broke (so it doesn't go through)

expect that with the drip rails

You are "Da MAN" JeepcoMJ... I'm gonna owe you big...Someday maybe I can find something you need out this way to repay the favor!

** Edit ** Pat, If you look close at the two pics you can see the swap to the window cranks you sent too... THX
