hgeranium
What are y’all’s preferred ways of cleaning the engine bay without it being completely meticulous and slow? I find that there’s too many old and brittle wires and lines to think about using a hose or pressure washer. Everything just looks either dusty, dirty, oily, or all of the above. The right side of the engine bay (dizzy side) seems especially problematic with the gigantic mess of wires and lines.
watchamakalit
My solution to a grease covered engine bay is a couple cans of degreaser from the local parts house and a pressure washer. Works well for me. If there isn't a bunch of oil (yeah right it's a jeep). Then a regular soap and water wash will do. Use caution when rinsing. Some things under the hood don't like to get too wet. 89 MJ
Oil Eatr degreaser and a pressure washer. Just try to generally avoid the relay center and such.
ghetdjc320 Posted yesterday at 07:48 AM Share Posted yesterday at 07:48 AM Same, use a good chemical to loosen up the grease so you’re not relying so much on the water pressure to remove it. That way you can “rinse” the engine bay. Just try to stay away from seals and wiring along with firewall ports

When I was an auto detailer, I used zep’s stuff but I’m always curious to try new stuff.
