Engine bay cleaning methods?

Recommended Posts

What are y’all’s preferred ways of cleaning the engine bay without it being completely meticulous and slow? I find that there’s too many old and brittle wires and lines to think about using a hose or pressure washer. Everything just looks either dusty, dirty, oily, or all of the above. The right side of the engine bay (dizzy side) seems especially problematic with the gigantic mess of wires and lines.

Same, use a good chemical to loosen up the grease so you’re not relying so much on the water pressure to remove it. That way you can “rinse” the engine bay. Just try to stay away from seals and wiring along with firewall ports

I know everyone has their own secret sauce but what do you use as degreaser? When I was an auto detailer, I used zep’s stuff but I’m always curious to try new stuff.
