As the topic says, how much of the accessories can be left on an engine when removed. when i get around to pulling mt engine for the swap i would like to do most accessories om the engine stand. Such as intake, header p/s pump and alt. this will be done with the trans off. hood off and the radiator support in. What can you guys tell me if any has to come off. I will also be doing this by myself, i will have no help. Thanks, Paul

In Oder to answer your question, you need to tell us how much of the front clip you are removing.

is the hood coming off?  What about the radiator (and AC condenser, if present)?   Is the front grille and grille surround removed?

Save yourself the mess and leave the PS pump in the engine bay hooked up to the box.

To be honest, I would pull all of the accessories off. In my opinion, it is much easier, especially if you are doing it by yourself.

Only done this once in a junk yard back in 2022. We pulled the engine with the transmission attached to get the AX-15 transmission out. At the time it made sense to use for some reason to pull the whole drive train rather than lay in the dirt trying to get the transmission out. We left nearly everything attached, but I do see that the front clip, radiator, etc. was removed already. I've attached a few pictures from that day.

i am going to go ahead and remove the p/s pump to rebuild. the radiator will be out not the a/c condenser; water pump off was really concerned about the intake and header.

I don't think it really changes much having all the accesories on/off. Typically when I commit to removing an engine i just remove the manifolds. None of the other bits really get in the way of anything, motor mounts even stay in the hangers I just losen the through bolt and then remove the 2 fasteners holding it to the chassis mounts. The bigger headache is clearing the radiator support as you mention that would still be there. Get you lifting point anchored very low close to the valve cover and make sure your cherry picker (if thats your equipment) can go high enough to actually lift it out. I run a chain from the rear most driver side head stud, typically where the grounding strap is. Then secure the opposite end to one of the 2 AC mount bolts at the corner of the block. The chain is slung through an engine balancer as well.
