WahooSteeler
can anybody tell me what a 4.0 weighs for shipping purposes? For worst case scenarios, assume full engine and harness etc., most likely less the alternator and pwr steering pump. thanks..........
johngus
If memory serves correct its about 750lbs fully loaded.
Geonovast
Is "fully loaded" including pulleys, manifolds, and flywheel? An automatic one would weigh a little less.
DirtyComanche
500~ bare engine, or about 525 mostly there. Or in that area. Apparently.

Geonovast
I'll stick a fish scale on the cherry picker next time I pick one up.
StevenH
Advance Adapters says it is 540lbs but doesn't specify if that is everything bolted to it or not. I would assume that it is.
Wildman
I'll second Dirty's weight. I have a striped long block in the shop, and I can't pick it up  But for shipping, that varies too on what you ship it with, weight of the pallet, or box needs to be added. skimore11
I paid $120 round trip on shipping for my new engine are return of the core. I am sure that is the agreed rate cause of volume but it was through USF Reddaway and they picked up and dropped of with a lift gate. But now that I look its a local company. Anyways look outside the brown/Fed.
WahooSteeler
if i buy this engine, it's only about 300 miles away, so i don't think it will be too bad, and the price on the engine is cheap enough to offset some of the shipping if it gets $$
