My e-brake goes up with an aggressive whack when I release it. Is there supposed to be a rubber stop here? It looks like there is a hole for one to mount. Anyone know where I can get one that'll fit? Thanks!

I just used a piece of 5/8 heater hose as a cushion. I bent the tab where the rubber bumper should go up slightly. Then slid the hose over the end of it. Not as much cushion as a rubber bumper but better than nothing.

I always put my foot on the brake pedal and lift it carefully so it doesn't go whak.

:yeahthat: This is a good idea and the same things I do after rebuilding the parking brake. Really helps the pawl and sprocket

Likewise I pull the handle when I set the pedal so as to not wear out the pawl.  I was fortunate to find a replacement assembly for mine as it was completely destroyed when I purchased my truck.  I don't need it wearing out.

Also I've wacked my hand a few times pulling the lever and letting the pedal hit my hand, no fun.

Thanks guys. Heater hose is a good idea. I have been using my foot to stop the aggressive swing as well. I guess I'll just keep doing it! Haha

I found one that fit great at Ace on the hardware section. It was a Hillman part.

Hmm I'll keep an eye out at ace next time I'm there. Thanks for the tip
