Getting back into autocross with the new (to me) GTO…It’s build thread can be seen in my sig.

Took it to the first event this weekend and had a blast.

Anyone else do this? Show us your setups!

Those are sweet little cars! Sounds good.

That was my parts car, turned budget racer. We had two other nicer ones. I sold mine to concentrate on my Novas and Jeeps and we kept my wife's '82 EFI model. This one is rusty and has registration back fees in excess of its value, but runs great!

I autocross a lot, am pretty involved in my local SCCA club.  The last few years I have been racing a 1999 BMW M3. The M3 is also a daily driver, winter beater and has just rolled over 200k miles.

This year I plan to race a 2009 Honda Civic Si, my new tires for it showed up today!

The Comanche makes frequent guest appearance at the autocross,  used to tow the club trailer and pick up cones on track.

I got into autocross racing driving a 2002 BMW M5.  The one with a 400p

hp 4.9L V8 and a 6 speed manual.  It was fun, but a big car for autocross.  Definitely not all that competitive.  I image the Caprice will be similar.

I sold mine about a year ago. 😭 I promised to myself to keep the fleet below 10, so when the "free" XJ came, something had to go. It was a nice cruiser, but the miles were getting up there and with the closure of Holden, I was afraid of parts availability problems.

In 5 years, I only had 2 people mention that it was a Caprice and never saw another one in the county. People did act kinda weird when I drove it to Washington though, (where it came from as an ex State Trooper car).
