I was having issues with my driver's door latch and I pulled it out and ultrasonic cleaned it. I want to put it back in but I am curious what lubricant I should re-apply to it?

Any suggestions?

I’d think white lithium grease would be your best bet.

Everyone that I know who has ever been a mechanic or body guy has insisted that white lithium grease is the way to go.

+1 WLG

Anecdotally, it fixed the squeaky doors on both my ZJ and my Ranger.

I used lithium grease on the first set I repaired. Use “green grease” which is a marine grease on the second set. Both worked well but the green grease lasted longer

I will use lithium grease. I actually bought it before I saw @ghetdjc320's comment but I think the regular stuff will be fine. I am pulling it out of the door in the next few years again anyway.

Is that similar to the red grease usually used in industrial applications?

It may be. It doesn’t wash out and is quite sticky. Doesn’t melt easily either. When I was rebuilding hvac control panels, that was one of the greases I was using.

I use the green grease for stuff. I think it has some 'corn' grease in it. I used 'corn' grease for an old John Deere mower rear axle. It is what JD specs or sold. Corn grease is suppose to fold itself back into the gears.

I also use the Werth spray for some hinges and other stuff. It is a dry film lubricant.
