ghetdjc320
I harvested all the connectors from my 90’ engine, dash and chasis harness. I have them all bagged as pigtails back stateside. Next year I’ll take detailed pictures of each one so they can all be ID’d and hopefully post reference links for the manufacturers
schardein
In reference to the headlamp connectors, are we talking the actual sealed beam or halogen headlamps? Those use a Packard 59 series terminal. They are similar to the Packard 56, except instead of a 1/4" wide male terminal, it is 5/16" wide. This wider terminal is also present in some positions of the bulkhead interface connectors and some positions of the starter switch. For the actual headlight switch connector, they use a terminal similar to a Packard 56. I don't have the actual part number, BUT a Packard 56 terminal WILL WORK, and could arguably be a better choice, as I feel they provide more contact surface, possibly reducing heat buildup and subsequent terminal and connector damage from heat. Torq_Shep
Taillight Connectors: These still need actual identification if anyone can help. The 1986 one is obviously a Weather Pack 6 Pin but I have no idea on the 1990 or 1991/1992 one.

Torq_Shep
Fuel Pump and Sender (at least for a 1991) is Weather Pack 3 pin.
ghetdjc320
Thanks for that info! I’ll try to pull the manufacturer & model numbers for those tail light harness connections. I’d really like to compile a picture thread of some sort. Perhaps some way of having descriptions and pictures of each connector. I think I probably bagged and tagged around 50-60 connectors from my 1990 harness.

I have the majority of a majorly hacked up 1991 harness except the engine harness and an okay 1996 engine harness I am going to work on. Whenever I pull the 1991 harness from the truck I can map that one but I believe it is also pretty hacked up. I hunted for hours on the 1991/1992 6 pin taillight harness at the back of bed and I am not completely terrible at it. Might be a Reddit special... I am really interested about the 6 pin that connects inside the cab.

It is almost like a hybrid between a Metri-280 and an old Ford "Wedge Lock". I am beginning to wonder if this plug and the 1991-1992 taillight harness connector plug are Chrysler exclusive. The pins are also not like anything I have seen on another plug. The only markings on any part of the plug are: 16 451 and A4 And that is only on the wedge itself. Torq_Shep
One more note that I found when doing research on any of these plugs. PED stands for Packard Delphi at least according to one website I found. If you find a PED marking it likely has an Aptiv cross reference.

I am willing to bet that packard didnt have a connector capable to carry the amperage for the lamps and fuel pump and ford probably did for cheap. ghetdjc320
From what I’ve found sometimes it’s easier to identify the plug is you determine who manufactured the component that it plugs into. I’ve ID’d several Japan spec connectors now using that method. That 6 pin connector is an interesting one. I’ve gone through all the US spec connectors trying to ID it. Going to have to search through foreign spec connectors. Once Chrysler fully took over, they really standardized the connections. Noticed that on all the 97+ XJ/TJ models

Clock and 87-88 radio is metri 150. Power mirrors are metri 150, there’s some connectors on the XJ rear harness that are metri 150. AMC used those suckers where they could in place of molex connectors.

This is the same connector as the brake light switch for a 1991 if you have cruise control. I just bought a new brake light switch and it had the mating side in a brand new part so I bet these housings/pins are still available somewhere!
