Warren99
I just installed an oem slider window in my MJ. I noticed two prominent gaps with the gasket/seal that I couldn't get to stay closed before the sealant solidified. Are these potentially going to cause any issue in the future? If so, what is the best way I should go about fixing them?
The86manche
Thin bead of window urethane?
ghetdjc320
No need to worry about the outer trim piece. It’s really just decorative. The trick is keeping water from pooling in the lower corners where the body seams are. Just like the windshield frame, there are seams in all the corners and the factory single stage seam sealer tends to deteriorate. Then you have a slow weeping leak. Dandxj
What has to be removed to assess the integrity of these seams ? Headliner, B pillar trim, trim below window/behind seat ? I am seeing moisture in the lower rear corners.

If you follow the vertical pinch seam down the corners below the glass, is there any evidence of rust, paint bubbling or water damage?
Dandxj
Thanks for the tip, I would not have immediately looked there as at first glance it looks OK. Is that just a vertical seam covered with seam sealer and then painted .I do have some bubbling with some rust underneath and I can see the seam with a little scrapping. It looks like it will be a royal pain to address without removing the bed. Any suggestions ?
Pete M
pull the bed, pull the interior, pull the glass. no sense in doing a half-job on it. do it right and never worry about it again.

It’s the only way to really get in there and fix it. You likely find a lot more rust hiding inside that seam eating away at things.
ghetdjc320
I eliminated those seams after doing the repair work in them. Once you have it all fixed, use some decent 3m or sem medium-bodied 2 part seam sealer in those lower window frame corners. I’ll try to add some pics to what I did on my current build also.
