After much checking out of cherokees, it appears that only 96 got the plastic upgrade that 97 plus got. So if you find them they will not disintegrate on you like the older stuff. :D

I should also add that 97 up are slightly different but probably still usable in our trucks.  Maybe?  I believe the 96 are the same as ours, but I guess if haven't held an intact 95-down in my hand in quite some time  :(

96 are the exact same, but with more durable plastic. No clue on 97+ but surely they have to be fairly close.

Are there any intact non-crumbly 95- wheel well liners left?

I found 93s, 94s, and 95s in the yards over the past month and all were crumbled up. :(  quite possible that the change to the newer plastic was mid-year.  :L:  I'll keep checking 95s.

at this point I think I'm going to start buying up all I can find since XJs are becoming harder to find.

When we acquired our Comanche, the driver side fender was removed and in the bed along with the driver fender liner (and a bunch of other junk). The fender liner was folded and torn and not worth putting back on. I ordered a replacement from Amazon for $27 or something like that. Not sure if it was the 96 and after plastic or not. I did need to use the felt from the old fender liner. Glad I didn't throw away the old one before I had the new one installed.

Fun odd fact, I cannot order the later XJ style fender liners, but the older ones are somewhat available, I think they might get discontinued soon unless the demand picks up.

Well, I guess you know what you're doing next! :brows:
