fiatslug87 Posted September 19, 2022 Posted September 19, 2022 Made a charcuterie board and five coasters out of Pyrat Rum hang tags. One tag comes with each bottle (don’t judge ) the center piece is from their Cask 1623.
fiatslug87 Posted September 19, 2022 Author Posted September 19, 2022 Also my neighbor made me a board with a piece of pine and copper flake.
MiNi Beast Posted September 19, 2022 Posted September 19, 2022 Interesting use of resins. Is that a cutting board then or just a board?
fiatslug87 Posted September 19, 2022 Author Posted September 19, 2022 More of a serving board, I think the epoxy would score, it is food safe epoxy.

Most epoxies are "food safe" in the sense that you won't get sick from eating off of them, but with a cutting board you'd get lots of small nicks and scratches that will almost certainly be little bacteria caves. Also, with as fast as epoxies dulls shaping tools, I bet it's hell on kitchen knives.
fiatslug87 Posted December 22, 2022 Author Posted December 22, 2022 Made a serving platter out of a pine stump I found, about 18 1/2” diameter, 1 1/2” thick. Filled the cracks/checks with black epoxy then stained, covered with clear epoxy and placed on a lazy suzan base. Flattened using a home made jig.
fiatslug87 Posted June 3 Author Posted June 3 Made another serving tray, this time for my sister in law’s 60th birthday. I added a spiral of pennies from each year she’s been alive from 1966 to present, however, since 2026 pennies were not minted I added a flattened “dragon” penny since it’s the year of the dragon.
Ωhm Posted June 3 Posted June 3 She'll love it. Not sure about posting her age online . Was it easy to find them pennies by the year?

Ωhm Posted June 7 Posted June 7 Great tool for rolling coins. https://banksupplies.com/color-coded-funnel-style-coin-sorting-tube-set-129-40004?utm_source=google&utm_medium=ads&utm_campaign=23706638831&utm_content=198477787561&utm_term=&gadid=802925818783&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=23706638831&gbraid=0AAAAAD_up3dCEDjl2ONmggnklBXGsEeoe&gclid=Cj0KCQjwrZTRBhDSARIsAHidYfeke4Ub0tOnqYJ_-KVkv4e3AIvFkt4_XDhtSNToieP0qZK8elEnzCMaAoyQEALw_wcB
