CarlG
Hello everyone, I’m new to the group and well not super mechanical savvy, so bear with me. 87 2.5L 2WD It appears that the front passenger base of the coil spring has collapsed and blew through the bottom. Any way to repair this? It appears to be a molded part of the front axle assembly. I discovered it when changing the shocks. Any thoughts and wisdom is appreciated. Thanks, Carl
Pete M
wow. at that point I'd be inclined to hunt down a whole new axle, but I'm not sure how available they are anymore. I'd wager that some company makes aftermarket ones.
Pete M
or it's just a simple Dorman part now. https://www.amazon.com/Dorman-926-072-Driver-Spring-Bracket/dp/B082P8CX29/ref=asc_df_B082P8CX29/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=424751278055&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4123504844324291449&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9011095&hvtargid=pla-896674893013&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=98636539323&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=424751278055&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4123504844324291449&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9011095&hvtargid=pla-896674893013

CarlG
I also was pointed to these as a more robust option. https://barnes4wd.com/products/jeep-tj-lj-mj-xj-and-zj-front-axle-coil-spring-brackets?fbclid=IwAR2vZP18O-9Q3WaZMwi0teYgs1z0jdK56rZcRourOgpt6ZTRNxGvnERf6wY&fs=e&s=cl
mjeff87
What is your location OP? I've got a 2WD beam axle out of my old MJ sitting in a barn in southwest PA. You can have it, you just have to go pick it up.
fiatslug87
There are two 2WD MJs in Northern California Pick-and-Pulls (Stockton and Windsor) if you’re in that area.
JYau
I just pulled my beam axle out of my MJ since I'm doing a 4WD conversion. It's available, I'm located in MA.
