Hi it’s been awhile, here’s an XJ you guys might like

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone, some of you might remember me but I haven’t been around since I had to swap the MJ’s for something more family friendly. Anyways, here’s a customers clean 84 XJ 2.8L with 195k miles. Easily the cleanest 80s Jeep I’ve worked on. Actually owe you guys for the diagnosis, since there wasn’t much info in my tech info, I dug up some info here about the mechanical fuel pump and how 84-85 were different than the 86. My customer had someone swap out the pump, but put an 86one in with too short of a push rod. Proper pump installed, and he’s good to go! There's a pic of the two pumps also, although the one I removed also blew apart so the spring isn't installed.

sorry about the flipped photos, they show up properly until I loaded them 🤷‍♂️

I might need more pics of this. I’m working on an 84 and I need some more references on stuff.

He's supposed to come back for a water pump next week now that it's running, but he needs it for the weekend and just picked it up. If you have anything specific you'd like a pic of, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

I want a set of those headless buckets in my rig. :brows:

I have a set I think in that color. That slate blue is wild and wish it was offered in mjs.

I will take a look at my 84 and see what I’d like pics of. One that I’m curious about is the rear middle belt and the male ends of the buckles for driver and passenger to see if they have the plastic covers over the metal.

I can check some of mine and verify. I think all I have were plastic. I believe it's Chevy of like years might direct swap in latching correctly but they have metal housings on the male buckles. Its tough finding any early 80's Chevy vans where they're often found. Really anything 90s down is getting thinner and thinner anymore at least by me.

Perfect!! That confirms that the middle belt buckle is supposed to be all metal and the fronts are should have covers.
Also does the lower dash bezel have the grills for the tweeter speakers or no?
