led_balloon Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 what axle and gears does a 92 eliminator :headpop:
90PioSport99 Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Should have a D30/D35 with 3:55 gears.
led_balloon Posted November 13, 2007 Author Posted November 13, 2007 is there a big visual difference between the two so i can be +
90PioSport99 Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Sorry what I meant was it should be a Dana 30 in front and a Dana 35 in the rear.
led_balloon Posted November 13, 2007 Author Posted November 13, 2007 i know what you meant (front/rear). i was just wondering if it had dana 44s with 4:10 in the rear, because i thought they were standard on the elim.

I couldn't really tell you if they were standard, but I don't believe so. One of my buddies on here (Comancheon33) has a 91 Eliminator and his didn't come with one, I don't know about 92s though.
comancheon33 Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 My eliminator and Matts eliminator both came with 3.07s.
Pete M Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 For 1992: 4.0L+stick = 3.07s 4.0L+auto = 3.55s 2.5L+stick = 4.10s Dana 44 wasn't standard but was optional with certain things. Doesn't matter what trim level it was.
90PioSport99 Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 My eliminator and Matts eliminator both came with 3.07s. Yeah his is an AW4 though, so I think it would have 3:55s.
jtdesigns Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 For 1992: 4.0L+stick = 3.07s 4.0L+auto = 3.55s 2.5L+stick = 4.10s Dana 44 wasn't standard but was optional with certain things. Doesn't matter what trim level it was. 2.5l+man = 4.10 Would this hold true for a 86 with the 4 banger?
Pete M Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 That reminds me, if the 4 speed manual was available in 92, then it might have 3.55 gears. Eventually the 4 speed went away and eventually the 2.5 was given 4.10 gears regardless of transmission, but I don't know what years the cutoffs were. For 86 you could have 3.31 (not likely), 3.55 with the 4 speed manual,or 4.10s with the 5 speed manual but the only way to really know is to look since the "rules" were either fairly liberal in the early years or we just haven't broken the code yet. Best bet is to look at the tag on the diff cover.
comancheon33 Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 I had an 86 with a 2.5 4 speed and it had 3.73s go figure.
Pete M Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Yup, that was another possibility. 86 was a crazy year.

You were incorrect. There is a VERY remote possibility of a Dana 44, but it won't have 4.10 gears.
