  1. 1. Should I swap in the grey buckets or stick with my blue bench?

I need some opinions here and everyone else has been little to no help.

I have a complete gray interior with bucket seats and center console that I could swap into my truck, but currently my truck has a blue bench seat interior. I have a non-cracked gray dash that will go into the truck at some point, but it will get dyed blue if I decide to keep the blue interior. My big question is: Should I swap in the gray bucket seat interior?

The reason I am unsure is because both of my interiors are in good condition. Usually, it is just me in the truck, and I've only hauled 3 people once, and have no desire to do it again. The truck will be getting a gray tilt column too.

Tough decision there man. I bet the gray seats would look good with the blue interior.

I do agree with this statement, however, I would have so much other gray stuff to swap in, it would be so easy to just finish the complete gray interior swap.

The benches are comfortable too, but the buckets seem a little bit more comfortable.

it goes well with the woodgrain.

That's what I was going for.  :L:  The fabric looks washed out because it's velour-like, but it matches the woodgrain pretty well.

@jeepsouthI would add that, that your trucks interior looks sharp!   If I recall, I used your method to fit the console.

I switched out my bench for buckets.  No regrets.  The buckets are more comfortable.  My truck has the Cordovan interior.  At first I was wishing it was tan or gray, but the cordovan grew on me.  I mention this because blue is a relatively rare interior color so I could understand wanting to keep it.  Maybe switch to gray buckets, but keep the rest of the interior blue and have the buckets reupholstered to match when the budget permits.

I have considered this, but both my blue upper and lower dash are not in the best condition. I don't know yet though. Maybe I'll do some experimenting and see how a gray dash, center console, and seats would look with an otherwise blue interior.

You know there is a plus to having the most common interior color- gray - replacement parts are easiest to find!  There is something to be said for that when talking about a 30+ year old truck.

You bring up another good point. Common would be nice, plus I think that my blue interior is a little dark.

When switching to buckets, perhaps something that is overlooked is the rear cab carpet panel.  I believe all MJs originally equipped with buckets had that carpet panel to dress up the rear cab wall.  I didn't think about it until after the swap, then the hunt was on.  I eventually found the part, but finding a gray one will probably be easier than a blue one.

Not that it HAS to be done as part of a bench/bucket swap.

I already have one, so I'm not worried about that. I think I should have everything that I need to do it.

I didnt think of the rear panel either, and sourced one,but recovered it in black speaker enclosure material. It looks great!
