86customanche
‘92 4.0 manual I depressed the clutch and turned the key, and it lurched forward. I put it in neutral and it started ok. It won’t shift into any gear, and attempting reverse offers lots of grinding. The reservoir showed some fluid so I added to it. I don’t see leaks anywhere. Thoughts appreciated for this Dad who is just trying to run the Manche occasionally for out of state son.
Dzimm
Bleed it and see if that makes a difference. May need a new throwout bearing.
86customanche
The only thing I’ve bled on this truck, or any vehicle is myself. But I’ll give it a try. Thanks.
cruiser54
Try this. Fill the clutch master cylinder with fresh fluid. Pump the clutch pedal about 30 times. wait 10 minutes and do it again. Again after 10 minutes if necessary.
86customanche
I absolutely love easy fluid fixes! The fluid was low so I filled it and bled the system, and can now shift ok. An earlier major issue with stuck transfer case was also a fluid fix, i.e. the case was empty. I suppose I’ll go now and check the engine oil. thanks all for the assistance.
