Front diff question

How do you pull the pinion shaft on a front D30? When I checked the hole I couldn't find any kind of pin

Do you mean when pulling the center shaft out of the carrier on the D30?  If so, its either a roll pin which needs to be tapped out with a punch, or a threaded pin that will have a allen head or torx head to loosen.  This looks like a roll pin, so tapping it out with a punch should do the trick.

K, I tried using a punch but I couldn't get it to move. I'll stop and get a different one.thanks

That could be a 'headed' pin, looks like a square drive? You at least should try to see if it'll turn before trying to tap it out. But, after a second look, I think I see a split along the side, at the 2:00 position.

your hitting it from the wrong side,its shouldered on the other side of the carrier so its only goes in/out one way

 that is the side for roll pin installation it has a larger diameter. the other side has a smaller diameter and is meant for removal

Well I have the upgraded axle in, getting ready to take it out on a test drive. Thank to everyone who gave me advice. As a bonus this just arrived a day early. Think my next upgrade is going to be the booster

I hope that you like them!  I see a sale come through every so often, but Amazon doesn't tell me who the buyer is.  Once in awhile someone will leave a review.  That's about the only clue I have.

Well I shouldn't have said anything, my booster started sucking air so now I'm putting in a new booster after white knuckling it for two days over the Tacoma narrows bridge and back just waiting for payday
